Viola River Lodge

Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located place. Four acres of riverfront property with a view of the New Market Gap in the Massanutten Mountain range. Thirty minute drive to many caverns, wineries, orchards, George Washington National Forest, Shenandoah National Park, Bryce Resort and Massanutten Resort.
The space
The downstairs has two bedrooms with queen beds and full bathrooms, and a half bath off the dining area. There are two sitting rooms on either side of the downstairs kitchen, one has a TV and the other has a futon that make a full size bed.

There are two sets of washer and dryers - one downstairs next to the pantry and one upstairs in the master bedroom.

The upstairs has an eat-in kitchen, a full bathroom, a spacious TV room, very large master bedroom with king bed and a full size futon. The master bath has a walk-in shower. There is a nook in the master bedroom that can be used for a workspace.

Wifi is available throughout the home.

What a beautiful home! So many beautiful rooms. Even with the downpours the house gave us plenty of space to spread out. The kids had a blast playing hide and seek. The river was muddy and flowing very fast and interesting to watch. We’d come back in a heartbeat.

Thanksgiving Retreat

We rented 2 VRBO homes in the area for a family thanksgiving retreat. Patti's home was wonderful. We enjoyed games on the huge family dining table and walks along the Shenandoah River. After Thanksgiving, we enjoyed a visit to the Luray Caverns. We also had fun counting all of the "bears" Patti has decorated the home with. Perhaps the next family can count all of her chickens!
