Lovely place to stay. Everyone in the Castletown team could not do enough for us, welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast and evening meal were excellent. Our second stay, and will stay there again.

Pleasant night in the highlands.

A lovely little hotel for a one night stop. Staff were all lovely and friendly. Our room was pleasant, on the ground floor, very clean with a comfortable bed. We ate in for dinner which was very good, good choice, also choice for vegetarians, and the portions were very good. Breakfast was a simple but good buffet. Very happy with our stay.

One to try as a base if touring in the area,

Fantisic stay wih friendly,helpfull and lovely staff. Excellent food with large portions,and great choice and standard of catering.Basic but adequate rooms comfortable and equipped will all basic requirement to cover an overnight or longer.we stayed for 3nights using hotel as base for touring the local area and were extremely happy with our time there and would recommend others to give it a try.The only Public Bar in the village but make you so welcome.

The room didn’t live up to our expectation of exceptional. The room lacked character. Walls were bare and only the bare essentials were provided. There were two single beds with a doona that just covered the width of the bed. The curtains barely coveredthe window which allowed twilight in. Just one half bottle of shampoo/body wash and there was no hand wash or soap. Tv aerial had been disconnected. One towel freyed. The two single beds reduced available floor space for luggage. Staff however were excellent and very good buffet hot breakfast provided.

Great hotel. Very friendly staff on reception. Check in smooth. Booked a table for dinner easily. Room was a good size with a big bed. Tea and coffee facilities. Only downside was there was a bath with a shower over. Would prefer a walk in shower. Dinner was excellent and great value for money. Breakfast was good. Hot food could have been better as it was a bit cold. There was some excellent fresh fruit on offer. Would overall recommend

Great location to get to the Scrabster ferry to Orkney. We walked to a nearby nature trail and down by the sea. So much history in this area.

For the price this hotel was perfect. The room we were in had history too, the McCartney Room. The breakfast was self serve of good quality, the hotel is a little dated, but it’s been around a while.
