My stay was great even with the remodeling. Everyone was very nice, even construction workers! The construction workers started at 7am, so a bit noisy, but check out is at 11 anyway, so no problem. I wanted to stay in main building instead of annex. Th were able to accommodate me. They did the last time I stayed as well. Room was nice and clean. Everything in room worked. I had no problems with anything. I'll stay here again.

Mission-capable

The bulk of the hotel is under renovation, so only the "annex" is available. The room had been renovated, but showed a little wear. The main problem was the floorplan which created several bottlenecks. The ice machine (temporarily located in the breezeway) failed on the second night.

I wanted to give a higher rating for the Dalles Inn, but I had a horrible experience at the end. I was in town for a family funeral and left something in the hotel room and called the same day to retrieve it, and the morning after, and was not followed up with. I’m left to believe that the item was stolen by the cleaning staff and I’m very disappointed that I wasn’t called back after calling twice and asking for it. I’m 100% positive it was in the room after I checked out.

You get what you pay for

The building looks run down. The room was clean. The bed was too soft. One office chair was good for a sore back, but the other chair was old and too soft. No elevator, but we lucked out and had a bottom floor so no stairs:)

The parking lot in an area surrounding is under construction, which is not their fault but definitely an inconvenience. I prepaid through the Expedia app and when I went to check in, she told me I owed more money. It took her quite a bit of time to figure out that I had already paid. The rooms Are dated but the beds seem clean. The toilet won’t flush. There is no stopper for bath and we were looking forward to a soak after a very long road trip and camping. The hairdryer doesn’t work and started to make a bad smell. When we called front desk she said sorry several times but did t have another room with two beds to offer, and didn’t offer a way to fix anything. She said to talk to the front desk tomorrow about a refund but she herself didn’t help.

Annex was HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT

Where I stayed was not the hotel, but an annex to it. All of the amenities like breakfast ice, snacks, coffee, etc., were in the main building, so I had access to none.
