I reserved a room for Oct 16-18 on October 11th. When I got there on the sixteenth I was told that I would need to pay. I showed them my Expedia receipt that said I had paid five days earlier. The person I spoke with said his boss said Expedia never paid them. I found this hard to believe. I felt they were shaking down an American woman in her seventies traveling alone. I showed them the receipt again which stated I had paid in full for both days on the 11th. The man I spoke with insisted Expedia hadn’t paid him and that I’d need to pay again. Luckily, for me he was called away. I showed the documentation to the second man along with a screen shot of my credit card statement showing I had paid Expedia, the amount and dates matched exactly. After 45 minutes I was given a key to my room. I was never told the password to the WiFi or anything about the amenities. Kind cleaning people helped me out. I have never been treated this way at a hotel before! The hotel is located on an ideal spot close to the beach. With kinder management it could be a nice place. The room was adequate. I’m stunned that they would act in such a way.
