Tucked away in the heart of the charming seaside village of Shaldon, Saltwater is a beautifully presented two-bedroom cottage, perfect for a relaxing coastal escape. Just a short, level 5-minute stroll from the beach and river, it’s ideally located for enjoying everything this popular Devon destination has to offer.
Set across three floors, the property has been recently redecorated and thoughtfully furnished to provide a comfortable and stylish stay. On the top floor, you’ll find two inviting bedrooms—a double room and a bunk room (best suited for children under 12)—alongside a modern shower room.
The first floor is designed for relaxing and socialising, with a cosy lounge featuring a flat-screen TV (including Amazon Prime and catch-up services), a fold-down dining table for up to four, and a well-equipped kitchen. From here, step into a sunny courtyard - perfect for al fresco dining or a morning coffee. A convenient additional WC is also located on this floor.
On the ground floor, a practical storage area includes a washing machine, picnic hamper, and cool bag, ideal for days out at nearby Shaldon or Ness Tunnel Beach.
Guests also benefit from a private covered parking space right outside the front door, plus additional free on-street parking.
Saltwater is well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including WiFi, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, cooker, and thoughtful extras like a hairdryer. For families, a travel cot, high chair, baby bath, and potty can be provided on request.
The cottage is just a short walk from Shaldon’s welcoming pubs, cafés, and independent shops, and is perfectly placed to explore local highlights such as the Shaldon Wildlife Trust and the nearby 9 hole 'pitch n putt' golf course. Seasonal events like the village regatta and water carnival both in August make it a favourite destination for returning visitors.
For a change of scene, hop on the small passenger ferry across to Teignmouth, where you’ll find a traditional seaside pier, large play park and a wider selection of shops and restaurants. Further afield, the stunning landscapes of Dartmoor National Park and the South Hams are within easy reach for memorable day trips.
Dogs may be accepted by prior arrangement (additional fee applies). Please note that pets are not permitted on furniture or in bedrooms.
Whether you’re planning a family holiday, a short coastal break, or a relaxing getaway by the sea, Saltwater provides a comfortable and convenient base in one of South Devon’s most picturesque villages.
