Great host and property overlooking the town. There are even animals like sheep, Shetland pony, and horses that we fed and petted. Very comfortable accommodations and thoughtful snacks and other items were provided to make the stay as comfortable as possible. Great place to stay in Te Kuiti. Highly recommend.

Everything about this place is wonderful. Very clean and tidy with so many convenient amenities. The outdoor grill area, also with fridge and pizza oven are great!Thanks, Mel, for creating a lovely space for travellers.

Mel was the most wonderful host. We loved all of her extra touches abs generous offering of food and treats. She thought of every detail for a delightful stay. The setting was beautiful and it was so great to meet all of the sweet farm animals. The room was lovely, very comfortable, and immaculate. We will very highly recommend a stay at Mel’s Retreat to our friends, and we will definitely return ourselves. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
