Very quaint, well kept and spacious property. Close to the downtown area. If you don’t have a car, it’s about a 20 minute walk into the main business area of the town which was fine by me. The property has a rustic eclectic character which creates a relaxing mood and feel. There is a huge chess set on the lawn as well as an old railcar for example. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in the refurbished train car and it was pretty funky . The shower was an old tub with a Gerry rigged shower head and the toilet was in a very small room( original bathroom) with a sink with broken fixtures. However it was definitely one of the most unique places we have stayed at and everything did work ok . Just felt like we were camping indoors. It was cozy I must admit. Very nice staff good breakfast

We had a wonderful stay at Te Anau Lodge property. We had the whole Manaroa homestead to ourselves and Kim was so accommodating and provided wonderful groceries for us to use. She also gave us good advice for taking the scenic route through the Catlins.
