We were in the deluxe family room which was huge and spotless. It seemed like it was renovated recently. Very comfy and the air conditioning worked great. Breakfast buffet had a good variety and the staff there were so helpful. They were accommodating and kind throughout the whole stay. Location was central and felt safe. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The people are good there, all of the staff are frendly and the breakfast was good. However the room itself is not good, the bed sheet was too old and looks like there were no quilt at all. The bed matress protector was used as quilt.

Room was nice, public areas a little tired, seems to mainly cater for coach parties. Check in was strange - when I tried to check in was told they don’t check people in until 2.30/3pm and they emailed people to tell them that. Expedia has the check in time as 2pm and I’d received no email from them - when I pushed back and told them this the person at reception went to check to see if my room was ready and it was. Not sure why they (a) can’t stick to their published check in times and (b) have a system so the front desk knows which rooms are ready when.

Staff was delightfully helpful, definitely went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The Premium King rooms were exceptionally nice; the Standard room had a more outdated TV and lacked some of the upgrades of the premium rooms, but that is to be expected. Amy at the front desk was particularly engaging and helpful when we had an issue getting the Premium room TVs to stream what we wanted to watch.

This hotel contains both renovated and unrenovated rooms. I booked and paid for a renovated room but apparently the hotel had oversold this inventory during peak season, and I was instead given an unrenovated room that also happened to be directly next to a bar that played a live band until past 1am which made it impossible to sleep (when I had a 5am wakeup the next day). Thankfully, for the second night, the hotel moved me to the room I actually booked. But paying for a renovated room and getting an unrenovated one (much less the bar noise and the fact that the unrenovated one wasn't very clean) was a terrible experience -- it completely ruined my New Year's Eve. It is not hyperbole to say this was the worst experience I'd ever had at a hotel in the 15 years I've been traveling. Hotel staff was nice and tried their best to help (especially the manager and Amy at the front desk), which was appreciated -- but apparently they couldn't do anything for the first night, which in my opinion is simply unacceptable, especially given how much I had paid (which was not adjusted to account for this terrible first night).

The room was fine. Bed was comfortable. Housekeeping was lax. Front desk staff were courteous. And maybe it’s an American thing but why did I have to leave the hotel and go to their next door restaurant to get ice? Then you have to hassle with the restaurant staff to get some? Breakfasts were good but don’t even think about taking a cup of coffee back to your room unless you pay an additional $5. The common areas of the hotel were drab and so not fitting with the beautiful country. I’ll be back to Te Anau but I’ll work hard to find different accommodation.

The location was good; however, the room had outdated decor and an unpleasant odor. It was impossible to sleep throughout the night due to an annoying noise resembling a deep mechanical hum. Additionally, the bathroom did not have a shower curtain, which made it impossible to shower without water spilling outside the bathroom. Breakfast was alright. In my opinion it is not worth the price to stay at this place.
