This hotel exceeded my expectations in many ways. Service was excellent. They offered me an upgrade at check-in because my room wasn’t ready even though I arrived early. I declined because I wanted a bathtub but appreciated the offer. When I asked where I could buy stamps, they took my cards and offered to post them free of charge. It was my birthday while I was there, and they left treats in the room and brought me champagne and cake at breakfast. The breakfast was far and away the best I’ve had in the Caucasus region. The options are not only plentiful but well prepared. I had the “relaxation room,” which was very large and truly relaxing. The bare wood floors, marble bathroom areas, and minimal window treatments are perfect for someone with allergies who is bothered by carpets, curtains and other dust catchers. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable.
Two minor quibbles: the ventilation system worked in such a way that when someone from another room was smoking it pumped the odor into our room as if the smoker was in our room. Even after we turned off the fan, the odor lingered for a long time. The hotel is nonsmoking so this was the fault of a rude guest but it was truly bothersome for several hours. Also I love my husband but I didn’t love having him floss his teeth two feet away from the bed without any kind of partition. I think perhaps the open floor plan would work better for solo travelers.
Overall: amazing. Almost perfect! I would return in a heartbeat
