Very easy walk and open train to the beach on Ilha de Tavira. Room was nice and lots of villas to choose from when booking. We drove into the old town of Tavira which was very charming. The pool closes ontime and the area is very quiet in the evenings.

I really enjoyed my stay at Pedras d'el Rei. Short walk to the beach. Good food in multiple restaurants. Family friendly. Friendly, helpful staff. Could be better: Parking was cramped, sometimes hard to find a space.

We have been passing the property for many years on our way to the lovely Barril beach nearby and it was convenient to stay one night this year. Staff were friendly, the price was right and we were not disappointed. Dinner was excellent and also well-priced in a cosy part of the bigger restaurant. The small supermarket on-site had good fresh food and the room well-equipped with kitchenette and bathroom. We would stay again !

We stayed near end of season, atmosphere in the resort was rather tranquil, which we liked. Apartments and public areas are a little worn, but spacey and well-equipped. We even got an upgrade to a suite with a third bedroom (which we did not need as a family of 3, but overall we enjoyed the extra space). For wifi in the room we needed to rent a router, but the price of 1 Euro per day is moderate and quality was perfect. Access to the (public) beach is by a 1500m walk, but there is a small train which can be used free of charge by hotel guests.

The property is very beautiful, however we had a lot of issues with the stove in our suite. It wasn’t working properly, and two people had to come in at different times to help us fix it, which took about 1-2 hours. Then when it was “fixed”, it still didn’t work properly, and would randomly shut off and we had to keep flipping the breakers on and off for the suite. This made our cooking experience very frustrating. There was also loud construction that started in the suite next to us around 9:00 in the morning. However the staff were very friendly and nice, and the surrounding area is beautiful.

Rustige omgeving, dat voldeed aan de verwachtingen. Verder helaas een zeer teleurstellende ervaring. - 3 dagen voor aankomst gemaild naar hotel: geen reactie - Eerste kamer totaal anders dan op de foto’s - Sterk verouderd, schimmelgeur, vieze badkamer, gevlekte tegels - Dood insect op het bed - Raam defect, waardoor kamer niet goed afgesloten kon worden en ik mijn waardevolle spullen niet veilig kon achterlaten - Tweede aangeboden kamer was nauwelijks beter Pas na meerdere chats met Expedia, discussie over bijbetaling en veel tijdverlies uiteindelijk een gerenoveerde kamer gekregen. Deze was prima, maar absoluut niet “super deluxe” zoals online gesuggereerd wordt. Voor een verblijf van slechts één nacht heb ik veel te veel tijd kwijt geweest aan klachten en regelen van een fatsoenlijke kamer. Communicatie vanuit zowel hotel als Expedia was slecht. De kwaliteit van de kamers verschilt enorm, maar daar wordt vooraf onvoldoende duidelijk over gecommuniceerd. Positief: - Pianobar met lekkere cocktails (€7,50) - Vriendelijke dame achter de bar Ik ben op veel plekken in Portugal geweest, maar dit was qua prijs-kwaliteitverhouding en communicatie de slechtste ervaring tot nu toe. Voor mij nooit meer dit hotel.
