Host went the extra mile

The host went above and beyond for me. I left something behind and the host graciously mailed it international back to me at no cost. Wow! Location was excellent for us. A short walk to the waterfront and a grocery store was close by. The restaurant next door was excellent and we ate there several times. Apartment was exactly as pictured. Host also left some wonderful pastries for the first night. I would stay here again.

Tavira Terrific

We stayed in Joāo's place for 4 weeks and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Joāo is a superb host. He was very responsive and genuinely concerned with our satisfaction. His personable and delightful mom also helped to make our stay a truly great experience. The location of the apartment was perfect for exploring Tavira and the eastern Algarve. Highly recommended.

Fantastic find in Tavira.

Our hosts Joao and Leonor are definitely superhosts. This was our first time in Portugal and they went out of their way to make us feel very welcome. Any questions we had, they were quick to respond. The accommondation was in a perfect location, within 10 minute walking distance to the town center, the bus terminal, the train station and numerous grocery stores. Free parking at a lot just up the street. The apartment and the kitchen are very well equipped with all essentials. Outside, there is a lovely enclosed courtyard with a dining table. Next door is Jorge e Lia Restaurant with a charming hidden garden for outdoor dining. When we next visit Tavira, we will stay here. Highly recommend it.

This apartment was well suited for our first scouting trip to Tavira. Our host was great .

The apartment was clean, nicely furnished, and had all the amenities needed for our 2 week stay. We were able to live a "local" life while exploring Tavira on foot. Parking was convenient. Quick access to the 125 and N22 made it easy to explore the region. Our host was wonderful. The small restaurant next door gave us a feel for the local lifestyle. The couple who run it are charming. This apartment met all our requirements and nearby rooster crowing during the day added to the neighborhood charm.

Comfortable place to stay.

This is a comfortable apartment. It had plenty of space so it did not feel cramped. We enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner on the enclosed patio in the back. We were able to walk to the grocery store, the train station and the center of old town Tavira in about five minutes. The apartment is on the ground floor on one of the main streets entering Tavira so there is some noise from passing cars, but it was not enough to interfere with our sleep. We enjoyed our stay in this apartment and will stay here again next time we are in Tavira.

A hidden gem

This property is in walking distance of the centre of town. It is easy to find, when entering Tavira and has car parking a short distance away. The apartment is spacious, clean and well equipped. It has a lovely private patio area at the back. An extra bonus is the garden cafe next door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Large T1 with more amenities than expected. Easy on and off highway and always parking in the lot up the street. Only 10 minutes to Old Town, French bakery and 2 excellent restaurants (Artefact and Come na Gaveta). Host provided excellent advice on activities in town. It was a little cold in early February and took a while to warm up the place with heaters in the living room and bedroom but retained heat after a few days. Would recommend!

Nice location, helpful host

This location was close to central Tavira, shops, dining, walking distance, access to all Tavira has to offer. Joao was a great host, very attentive and helpful. The property was clean and well appointed. We hope to stay again soon!

Short break in Tavira

The property is excellent and much bigger than a typical 1bedroom.It is very well equipped with everything you could want.There is a large outside area to sit and have breakfast or relax.A large kitchen with cooker and fridge freezer.The host is very helpful and the flat was immaculate on arrival.It is a short walk to the Town centre about 5-10 mins.There are several supermarkets near by.There is a snack bar in the building and a Tapas bar about 100 yards down the road.The pictures don't do justice to the size space and facilities.It was also an excellent price.Would recommend.You also don't need a car as the Train and Bus stations are within 5 mins walk.The beaches and small local villages are also very pretty and well organised.

Lovely apartment!

We had a lovely welcome off Leonor, she even left us some pastel de nata to enjoy. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The outside space and bbq are a bonus. Some good places to eat nearby, especially Lia and Jorge right on the doorstep.literally! Great place to eat or just enjoy a drink. Had a lovely time staying here. Thankyou Joao and Leonor

Happy days in Tavira

The apartment was everything we could have hoped for - very spacious, in a great location, with parking just outside. The kitchen was fully equipped, the bed large and comfortable , and it was lovely to have breakfast outside on the terrace. The internet was fast. I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment.

Lovely relaxing apartment

We had a lovely time in this apartment. It was about a 10 minute walk to the centre of Tavira which is reflected in the economical nightly rate. It was really comfortable to relax in and recharge our batteries. We're looking forward to visiting again in warmer weather so that we'll get the opportunity to use the patio. Hosts couldn't have been more helpful.

Lovely stay in a spacious and well equipped apartment in abeautiful resort with fabulous restaurants

We had a wonderful two weeks in Tavira staying in Joao’s apartment. It’s really well positioned for access from Faro and just a short walk into the town centre The apartment itself is very spacious, comfortable and extremely well equipped and (thanks Leonora) spotlessly clean. We were greeted by Leonora and she generously presented us with locally produced figs and some monster tomatoes!! Both were absolutely delicious! When some friends joined us We used the BBQ on the outdoor terrace - though it’s not currently really suited to lying in the sun with shaded netting over most of it making it feel a bit humid. Thanks for the recommendations for local restaurants Joao - have to say we weren’t disappointed anywhere we chose to eat , Tavira is a gorgeous place full of friendly people and has a wonderful selection of restaurants - we were absolutely spoilt for choice and great value! We’d add to that list and recommend La Petit France on the other side of the river - the best meal we had , great service and atmosphere with live music. The beaches are wonderful in and around Tavira, but it is a bit of a trek involving ferries to get to them. Well worth it though when you get there. The healthy eating festival was on near the end of our stay and that just added to our overall good holiday experience. Finally I did some cycling while I was there (used Albilio bikes - they supplied very good road bikes and VFM). So we got out and about and met even more of the wonderful very kind Portuguese people. Tip thoough - take plenty water!

Excellent!

We spent three great weeks at this flat and could not say enough about the hosts, Leonor and Joao! First, Joao kindly agreed to transfer us from the airport and back for a very reasonable price. Second, there were a couple of " hiccups" which they quickly addressed. The flat is very spacious, clean, and comfortable, and is within walking distance to stores, the waterfront, bus and train stations. My husband & I stayed the last week in April. João & Leonor were the perfect hosts. The apartment was lovely. Spacious & clean. In an ideal location for town centre supermarkets & train station. A visit to Vila Real San Antonio 30 minutes by train is a real must.Had a lovely holiday would definitely stay again.

The apartment was comfortable & clean & had lovely outside space. Nicely decorated with new furniture & more like a home than a holiday rental. Perfect location for walking to the town centre & to supermarkets & bus & train stations. Very spacious for 2 people. Good quality bed linen & towels. The owner - Leonor was a delight to deal with - she was very friendly & enthusiastic. We arrived late & it was no problem. She came & changed the bed linens & towels half way through our holiday. A new wifi & satellite TV system meant we had British TV & excellent communication with home! An excellent rental.

prettige locatie in Tavira

super , wij waren 5 weken op deze plek , fijn appartement ground floor. jammer dat we weinig van de pation gebruik hebben kunnen maken want de maand januari is niet warm maar je kon het binnen goed verwarmen met 2 heaters . Joao is een superhost. Elke week schone lakens en handdoeken en om de 2 weken goed schoongemaakt. Top

Very good apartment close to the centre of Tavira

Lovely spacious apartment, very well equipped with largely everything that you might need. Perfect for a couple, and 10 minutes walk from the centre of Tavira, which is a delightful town. No problems with parking near the apartment. We arrived quite late and collected the keys from a key safe outside the building, and were delighted to find that two little cakes had been left for us as a welcome. João and Leonor were always ready to help with information and answers to our questions. Recommended.
