The staff at Hotel Svizzera were very warm and welcoming. They helped us with questions and a kindnesses during the stay. We would stay with them again if ever in the area due to their hospitality and the ease of transport links. We stayed for a week and loved our time there.

We had such a wonderful stay! The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, making us feel truly welcome. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. The breakfast spread was delicious with plenty of options to enjoy. And the location couldn’t have been better — close to everything we needed. Highly recommend!

Family vacation in Taormina

The hotel is older and in a great location walking distance to the historic section with a beautiful view. Some rooms have been renovated/updated and though small they were comfortable. The staff is incredible! We were greeted by Antonella who upon registration asked us if we needed help making plans. She arranged a boat and taxi for the next day as well as restaurant recommendations. Others helped with dinner reservations and served a lovely breakfast and happy hour on the terrace overlooking the sea. They also recommended and reserved spots for us at affiliated beach clubs and shuttles to and from there. We had a wonderful 3 days there and are so grateful for the great recommendations and help from the staff!

Not worth the money

The overall experience was both disappointing and underwhelming considering the price tag on the room. Very clean but the bathroom had a bit of mouldy scent. The towels were thin and with poor quality, losing little white bits of thread and cotton all over hair and body. The breakfast was below average with dishes that got cold and no refilling of the food even an hour before breakfast closed, and the morning coffee tasted a bit off. The staff was friendly but not super attentive, the outdoor patio was cute and had a great view but all in all we would not recommend it.

A great historic property, that was tastefully modernized yet maintained the character of its location and origins. Property was a short walk from the bus station and cable cars and an ideal spot for navigating Taormina’s sites and offerings. The staff was friendly and provided a great concierge service recommending and arranging travel, dinner reservations and sites. The morning breakfast was fantastic providing a full fare of local cuisine. The property was relaxing, safe and beautiful…. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the coast. Couldn’t be more pleased with the stay. Definitely would revisit.

The most important from this property is the staff. Mr. Mario was always on top of everything, he is very professional on his duty. Super educated person and very kindly with my kids. His son was super friendly when we arrived late night too and super generous to help with the bags. The last on recepción very kind too and helpful to find me a spot to park calling from her cellphone. The staff for breakfast Ms Sylvia very kind and professional on her job, super friendly and attentive. Mateo also aware of everything. Very pleasant our stay here feels like home. 🏠

Cozy property just a few minute walk from the Main Street. Also next to the cable car which is a huge plus if you visit Isola Bella. Room had a small terrace and was clean and well appointed. Staff were friendly and helpful, giving a map and offering highlights. After check-in, they directed us to a lot right down the road- cash only upon exit but reasonable price. Nice breakfast spread, as well.

Had a lovely 4 night trip on my own. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast buffet with views over water. Convenient location for bus station and a short walk up to historic town. I would stay here again. Only small thing to be aware of is the lifts in the building stop inbetween floors, so as long as you can carry your luggage up/down some steps you are fine to stay here.

The hotel was lovely with a gorgeous view and the location was perfect to walk into the main shopping and dining area. The staff was fantastic and took amazing care of us. They even gave us a bottle of prosecco when the found out it was our anniversary. They served a fantastic breakfast each day. The only issue was the metal shade that was supposed to roll down to block light from coming into the room was broken and we told the front desk clerk who was going to try to fix while we were out but was unable to. Because of that we were up at 630am each day due to the blinding light that came into the room. If you don't mind getting up that early on vacation it would not be an issue. Overall the room was nice and we greatly enjoyed our stay there.

FANTASTIC. Location was beautiful, both the hotel itself and the natural setting of Taormina and the gorgeous views of the Mediterranean. The breakfasts were superb --- the best we had in Italy by far. But the main reason for our great experience was the warm and friendly staff, led by the wonderful Antonella, as well as the kind and helpful Marco and Mario. Would only ever stay at the Pensione Svizzera in any future trips to Taormina. We truly hated to leave.
