We were ready for the sun in Tamarindo. Knowing this lively Pacific beach town is plagued by constant traffic, we prioritized a walkable location — and Sharonus Units delivered perfectly.Perched on a hill, the property is a short walk to the intersection of Tamarindo’s two main streets, excellent restaurants, and the heart of town. Steps away is a supermarket and several dining options at reasonable prices. The beach, Thursday Night Market, and vibrant Saturday Farmers’ Market are all within a five-minute walk. After witnessing the traffic and scarce parking, we were thrilled we hadn’t rented a car or golf cart.Sharonus feels more like a gated casa than a hotel. Four compact units and two smaller cabins line charming flagstone steps. The accommodations aren’t fancy, but they’re thoughtfully laid out, clean, and “Ikea-esque” in design — each with kitchenette, bar fridge, induction cooktop, A/C, bedroom area, and bathroom. A refreshing cold-water plunge pool is a welcome escape from Tamarindo’s heat, and a covered communal patio with full kitchen and picnic table encourages relaxed gatherings. The intimacy fosters easy camaraderie; friendly conversations with fellow guests quickly enhanced our stay.The husband-and-wife team have earned their “Super Host” status. Warm, attentive, and always available, they provide thoughtful local advice and ensure that every detail is well handled. They're listing accurate and honest. If we return, this will be our first choice!
