Octavio is an amazing host, he welcomed us with a drink and shared tips on local attractions and meals. The room was surprisingly spacious, felt clean and safe. He went above and beyond by helping transport our luggage to our next hotel in Takayama, which let us enjoy the town without worry.

The best place I stayed so far!

Since I got lost on my way to Takayama, I arrived very late. Nevertheless, the owner, Octavio-san, was nice enough to wait for me and give me a quick tour of the house, and he also took the time to recommend me some places to see in the town! The house is so beautiful, very clean, and the futon amazing, I slept like a freakin' baby! You have to walk a bit to see the main spots, but everything is at least 10 minutes walk , so very close. Overall I really enjoyed my stay, Octavio-san is a wonderful host, and I wished I stayed more in Takayama!

We ended up with a private toilet and sink as well as a huge separate living room. The bedroom in itself was large as well, the bed comfortable.

Overall good experience

Overall it was quite a good experience staying in japanese 'ninja house'.. my kids love the double decker bed.. the only short coming is toilet that is downstair, the house is not heated so can be cold during the winter..

Wonderful service

We had a fantastic stay at Ninja House. Octavio was the best host. He showed us places to go around Takayama, recommended a beautiful nearby walk and drive us to the train station when we were leaving. The futons were very comfy and the toast and coffee in the morning was an unexpected bonus. Highly recommended.
