This place was perfect in every way. Amazing staff and amenities, the breakfast was wonderful, and the location was perfect. I would live there if I could. My advice: splurge for the private bath (by splurge, I mean 2000 yen) - totally worth it. 6 out of 5 stars!!!

It’s a wonderful place! It’s close to the train and bus terminal for those wishes to do a day trip to Shiwagawa-go. There are many restaurants close by. The hotel provided fantastic breakfast. Almost a work of art ! Staff are very friendly. We did not partake the onsen but pretty sure it would’ve been relaxing. Coin laundry available. I would book the hotel again with my next visit to Takayama.

Lovely hotel. Very nice inside. Well located to the bus station and train station. Was very peaceful. Very nice room and bathroom. We paid for use of the private onsen (there is a free public onsen also available) - the private onsen was reasonably priced and it was really nice and well worth it.

We had a very pleasant stay at hotel around TAKAYAMA, an Ascend Collection Hotel. The hotel staff was very helpful, and friendly. The location of the hotel is at walking distance to the trai. Station, bus station, the old town and restaurant. The onsen bath is included with our stay and accessible inside the hotel. We rented the electric bikes from the hotel and dicovered the old town. Oh yeah, the lounge on the 8th floor also provides complementary sake, plum wines and whiskey... this is by far the best experience at a Japanese hotel that we experience so far during our trip in Japan.
