The onsen (public bath) on the top floor is wonderful. The room was clean and spacious. The downstairs lobby was small and the breakfast/dining area rather sterile with harsh lighting. Does not have a real lounge/bar area. However, plenty of great dining and bar options nearby.

Very near train and bus stations (very short walk). Walking distance to central Takayama. We stayed there to see the Spring festival (Sanno Matsuri) so room rates were inflated (as all hotels in Takayama were). But, optional breakfast was the most affordable we've seen for a very nice buffet.
