The property had beautiful views. The rooms were very western in style compared to rooms in Japanese cities. The breakfast was good, but a bit high priced. It was disappointing not to have a swimming pool for a resort of this size. The staff were very attentive.

Unwanted guests in the room.

The room was a fair size but had a cockroach in the room in each of the two nights we stayed. Staff dealt with it but you’re left sleeping with one eye open. The spa area, which is the hotels bid feature was looking tired and parts were under maintenance or just out of use. As a plus the views from the spa gallery are great and open for anyone. Beverage and ice cream in the machines so why pay triple the price asked in the lounge! The food and beverages prices are high and you are stuck with it if you don’t have transport. The laundry is great if you are travelling, there’s an app so you can see time left on the machines. Overall the stay was good as we had a car so could access Takayama and surrounding area.

I had the privilege to stay in one of the rooms with the beautiful view of mountains and the city of Takayama. The staff was very pleasant and service was amazing. I also enjoyed the experience of the hot springs and would higly recommend anyone if they would be staying in Takayama, to come to this hotel.
