This was a lovely room and stay. The only disappointment was being woken by the property manager who woke us up using electric hedger and blower outside our room at 7:30 in the morning.

Scenic balcony & room view. Enjoyed watching the tide come in and out. Access to kayak and shovels for Hot Water Beach greatly appreciated. Terry, owner very hospitable. Extremely well stocked kitchenette, complete with stove top & pots!

Worth a stay

Lovely clean and tidy unit with a lovely view of the water. This is the second time have stayed here. Bed is comfortable and the shower pressure great.

Nice room but expect some noise

Really nice spacious room with views out to the estuary which is pretty. I was enjoying my stay until I started hearing noises from the accompanying rooms so the walls are probably a little thin. That was during the nighttime and then I got woken up the next morning by people moving around and opening and closing cupboards etc. You can also hear cars coming and going as it’s only single glazing. If you’re not a light sleeper, this might not bother you. The bed was quite comfortable, I liked the big screen TV, and that there was a small kitchenette there

Fantastic place, charming, quiet, Terry a great host/owner; beautiful location 2.5 km walk to downtown Tairua but pitch dark at night, glad I had a reflector vest Basics in place for cooking, TV has Netflix, prime and good channels. Water across the street, complimentary kayaks and shovels for hot beach ( but I was late getting there) Great base to take off in day trips Definitely my go to should I ever return.

We were so happy with our accommodation. Our room was spacious, very clean & modern and so comfortable, and was the closest to beach front. Felt very spoilt. There was a private balcony with outdoor furniture inviting us to just sit and relax overlooking the most beautiful view of the bay and Tairau on the opposite side. And we did. Just magic! Tairua is a short drive away with cafes and shops. A very pretty town between mountains and the bay and sea. Awesome walks on the beach just steps away. Can't say enough about Paku Lodge Resort. Would love to stay there again should we visit the area again. Just a note that the reception office is closed until 2pm, check in time.
