Great breakfast in old hotel.

I had a pleasant stay. There are a few simple things to improve on but it is an old building and it may not always be straightforward. Wi-Fi was strangely weak even though there was a router outside my room. Only slight issue was whilst the welcome was friendly there was little information given out on matters such as WiFi codes and breakfast times. I would happily stay again just for the fantastic fried breakfast.

It was a very sad hotel. Super dated, grubby, I was ill from my evening meal, one member of safe, weird music for dinner and breakfast, place smelt like it was rotting in front of me.

Staff very friendly and breakfast was good. The property is looking tired in urgent need of refurbishment. We stayed in room 24, the curtains didn’t cover the full width of the window, wallpaper was hanging off the wall, the electric radiator in the bathroom had insulation tape wrapped around the connection, tape was along the top of the bath side panel, the tv is positioned at 90 degrees to the bed which is not ideal for viewing, one bedside light kept flickering.

Avoid at all costs!

Dirty rooms, tv’s done work, windows held open but cut of pieces of wood/timber. Dirty bathroom’s and a shower that does not work! If knew how to ask for a refund I would. Loud and nosey guests all night long with no night manager to contact

WE were overcharged on bar drinks on the first evening. The issue we tried to resolve with the staff, but they refused to accept, paid a £7 refund which ultimately reduced the Bill from £85.00 down to £70. after discussions. The drinks we had however, base don the individual drinks price could not be added up to £70.00. Consequently we used an alternative outside bar for an evenings drink. Additionally, room 19 had no bathroom mirror. The only mirror was the other side of the room. The television in the room was not connected nor had a coaxial cable to connect it so it could not be used. It was also a small television and not the standard 32" TV one would expect. We will not use this hotel in future.

I have to say that I was a bit dubious of my upcoming stay here after reading so many negative reviews. We really enjoyed our one night stay here. We were in such a huge room which felt so incredibly spacious. The staff were friendly and worked really hard to ensure that guests enjoyed their stay. Yes there could be some decor improvement as a little dated or worn but none of this really impacted our stay. The breakfast was nice and the staff were accommodating with any additional request.

The room was spacious and comfortable but a bit outdated. The room had an enormous window and the blind, when pulled down was ill fitting so the light woke us up at 5am. The TV didn't work which was disappointing. The hotel was generally dusty and needed some TLC. However, dinner and breakfast was very good and the staff friendly. and helpful.

Its got parking is the only positive. A once beautiful building left to rot. The staff they had tried his best but wanted a lot of help. Wallpaper hanging off walls, musty smell, avoid at all costs.

The room was comfortable and a large comfy bed, nice en suite, the food was excellent big enough portions. Nice comfy settees in lounge . The manager was very pleasant and always had time for a chat. Would definitely stay here again .
