Honestly for accommodation above a pub, Southend is amazing! The rooms are newly renovated, large and super comfortable with their own bathrooms. Staff are so accommodating and we had leak from balcony in our two rooms due to extreme weather and they moved us to new rooms straight away, provided us with free drinks and continually checked on us. The food at the pub below is delicious and the vibe is very warm and friendly! Highly recommend. Area is super close to the beach as well.

rooms recently refurbished, everything works, no noise from pub, serviced daily, pub bistro handy and good. 20 stairs, not helpful because of heavy rainfall, and moving in & out. Parking bad when pub open, good out of hours. Staff very helpful. No toilet brush, strange.

This was a one night stay for work but the room was perfect, clean and tidy and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Easy walk to the beach and the walk along the headland was perfect.

We arrived late and staff were very helpful and our flight the next day was not until later in the afternoon so the staff helped us out and locked our bags in the office while we walked to the beach. All the staff were very helpful 10/10. Thank you.

We found the Southend Hotel to be clean and comfy for the nights accommodation we required. Although the pokies were an addition we didn't know we would hear, but only when the balcony door was ajar.

Not a great experience. Checked in after waiting 30 minutes and was told by the yound lad behind the bar ' we were busy ' Didn't even check the hotel counter once in that time so not a great experience to start off with. Basic hotel rooms above a noisy and loud bar. The place is cheap for a reason. Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere

Property is not accessible by elderly and disabled people as there is no lift. The wooden staircase is very high being in an old building. The rooms appeared to be recently renovated. The bath and room furniture were very clean. Every things appeared new and well designed. Conveniently located opposite to shops and on top of a club bar.

Nice and affordable place to stay. Comfy bed. Near shops for any supplies e.g. supermarket, bakery. Only experienced one problem on one night. The rooms are not soundproofed, so we could hear a guest in a neighbouring room, with their tv volume very loud, well after midnight.
