The Sussex Motel is one of those simple 1960's era motels that are fast disappearing. You know the type: drive up and park right in front of your door, you have an old fashioned metal key, the room is spacious enough to sleep 12, if you had to. But, the place has been modernized -- and nicely at that. It's clean, everything works, the water pressure is forceful and the staff is delightful.
One thing, though: there is no one manning a front desk, so you must have a cell phone to check in. You call the number posted on the office door, and the charming young lady who runs the motel comes out, greets you, hands you that old fashioned key and gives you the run-down on all the sites and eateries and taverns within a 5-mile radius of the motel. Couldn't ask for better than that! Very good, all around.
