Eva and the entire staff were exceptionally wonderful. What great service and work they did to make our stay so special. And their breakfast offerings were very gourmet. With a beautiful quaint dining room, lovely service and a great view. Highly recommend this place.

This bed and breakfast in Chester, CA near Lake Alamnor and the south entrance of Lassen Volcanic National Park was the perfect place to stay after a challenging, afternoon hike in Lassen. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the room was large and well appointed, the property was well cared for, and breakfast was delicious with excellent service. My sister and I both said we would stay here again.

A wonderful B&B. The staff were gracious and accommodated my friend’s very strict dietary needs. We stayed in the little cottage away from the main house, which had a full kitchen, its own private patio, ands everything we needed. There were board games to borrow and lovely grounds to enjoy. Wish we’d stayed more than one night to be able to fully enjoy the property.

Not a lot of “ nicer” places to stay in the Lassen area, this met our need and is seemingly the best act in town if not the region. Chester, overall, was disappointing as a destination but the Bigwell was very nice, breakfast a treat. Our room only had a tub and not easy to use at that - it was very difficult for my wife to use . Otherwise, no complaints.

Breakfasts were very delicious. A cookie jar full of homemade cookies was a nice touch. The sunroom and gazabo were comfy places to sit and read or enjoy a glass of wine. The grounds were lovely. The bed was comfortable; smaller, fluffier pillows would be a good update.
