They have been remodeling. When I went in May they were working on the rooms upstairs and the room was not that great and I left a review and someone did get in contact with me regarding that. So I reserved a room again thinking it would be better. The room was clean but the upgrade to the rooms were not good. The room seemed to dark, there is no longer a reading lamp, the bathroom had no hooks to hang clothes or towels from, there was no place to sit clean clothes to change into after shower. There was not enough counter space to put toiletries and the counter had a piece of wood torn off and there were large wood splinters sticking out. Also upon arrival and the next day the floors were filthy. I understand there is going to be some dirt but this was late at night when we got there and no one working on anything at that hour. The next day the floors were still a filthy mess. There was no reason the areas couldn’t have been cleaned up when the workers were finished for the day. I have stayed at this hotel every time I have come to Sumter but I don’t think I will book there anymore. The last few times the hotel has declined. The staff were all accommodating though and pleasant.

Last night, 11-27-25 Austin Wells was awesome after having to leave the Comfort Inn in Sumter, for several reasons no hot water, customer service was awful, pool cold smell in the room Austin made the transition so easy. Thank you so very much Austin. We really appreciate your hospitality.

There was a construction going on during my stay. I was not aware at the booking time. The construction area was not separated by a construction curtain or something, getting out of the elevator was disastrous, we encounter with furniture, paint and mess all over, it was so bad for the name of the hotel. The chemical smell (of paint or something else) was overwhelming. The laundry room was dirty. The cleanliness of the restroom was below the standards. The breakfast was fine with waffles that my kids enjoyed. The front desk was friendly.
