Petting Zoo: Please go right inside their gate! They are simply the sweetest farm animals, but they are animals. If you have a carrot, they will gladly bump over your toddler to get to that carrot! Act responsibly!



Magic is located in the sweet, quiet, farming town of Sugar Grove (think Valle Crucis but even more laid back), a safe space and with year-round easy access (although we have to recommend 4x4 in the winter months!)

IMPORTANT NOTE: This cabin, aptly named "Magic Cabin" is NOT related to "Mountain Magic Resort" that is located about 15 minutes away. This cabin does NOT have access to the resort amenities, but it has its own private petting zoo!
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned cabin, which features a fireplace. There's a private balcony. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.
Enjoy recreation amenities such as a hot tub or take in the view from a garden.

The beauty of this property immediately draws you in and oozes relaxation. Immaculate/ tastefully and comfortably furnished . Great outdoor space and cozy inside. Great Self-Care Weekend

I had such a great experience at the cabin. The animals were loving and entertaining. Loved the carrots that I brought them and Sir Henry made sure I was awake with his song in the morning. I was able to spend my time reading in the sunroom or on the hammock and watching March Madness while lounging in the hot tub. The only downside was the occasional noise of a distant neighbor shooting their gun, but this only occurred a few times in the day. Overall an amazing experience that I would be happy to repeat!

The animals steal the show.

Nice, older, clean cabin. Very comfortable and within 20mins to Boone. Private setting with your own petting zoo. Our kids (and us) loved the animals. They are very docile and learn the have the routine down pat. T-Mobile reception was fine. All the supplies (except food) you need. Hint: there are more supplies under the island. Comfy furnishings and neat older antiques. reasonably close to Blowing Rock, Beech, and Sugar mtn. Hot tub was clean and offers a unique opportunity to star gaze. We had a great time during a snowy weekend.

Pretty Cool Place for Christmas

we had a great day at the cabin. We enjoyed the hot tub. Loved the fireplace but assumed there would be some wood available that we did not have to purchase. The kitchen needs a little updating of appliances and utensils. There is no need for 50 glasses and plates. We loved feeding the animals… even loved the rooster that crowed like clockwork at 5:00 AM.Did not like that there is a neighbor where three dogs incessantly barked anytime we were outside. Overall, had a fantastic time!

we truly got more than we expected. It was absolutely beautiful and clean. The beds were so comfortable. I couldn’t believe how spacious the rooms were. My grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the petting zoo and the animals were super friendly,. The containment area for all the animals was kept extremely clean as well. I really can’t say enough nice things about or stay there and we look forward to going back again next year for our annual winter vacation.

Birthday Getaway!

I took my Fiancé here on a surprise 3 night vacation and it was absolutely amazing. Everything about the cabin was perfect and so charming and rustic. The petting zoo was such a beautiful addition and was a highlight of the stay! The hot tub was great for the cold November mornings and evenings. Wonderful family vacation

This cabin was perfect for a week with our grown children and grandchildren! The property is amazing! Having a flat yard so the children can play was amazing, and we took full advantage of the hammocks and fire pit. We ate all our meals on the covered back porch and enjoyed the beautiful view. The highlight, of course, was The animals! We can’t wait for a return visit.
