We are a frequent guest at this hotel. We are always very comfortable and have never had a bad experience. One recent note...the food in the restaurant has improved and was one of the best meals of our trip. Well done...

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Strange but clean room
Room very clean. Wallpaper will give you claustrophobia and if you like wildlife, particularly deer, very sad to see them stabbed on every wall in every area. Only ONE hanger in my room. Unable to open sliding glass door. Traffic from highway very loud, also heater.
I have been comin here annually for years. While rooms in motor lodge are dated its part of the charm.
The staff is always excellent, rooms clean and dinner on site is always terrific with great service. Cant forget cinamon rolls omg and if you get there early check what pies are avaiable...they will hold for you to take home next day!

Good experience here
Kind front desk people, well maintained property, spacious sitting area in hotel lobby
The girl at the front desk was not very friendly. I was probably the only one staying there that was not going to the flea market that most people staying there were going to. I had never been there before and had no idea where anything was. The girl at the desk gave me quick instructions where to find my room. She also told me breakfast was at 7. I ended up asking people how to find my room. Next day I was waiting around until 7 to eat breakfast. Surprise, the bakery opened at 6 because of the big sale going on. Would have been nice to know. While I understand the place was extremely busy, could have taken an extra minute to help out this first timer. Food was great, location was great. Only problem was the front desk
We had a pet friendly room in the motel. The room was clean the beds and linens clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean but had loose floor tile and the door was really in the way of the toilet and shower. It was a bit of an issue as my husband has mobility issues. The microwave and fridge worked well. The drapes at the sliding door were frayed and worn. The rug has a burn from a hot iron . The chairs at the table were upholstered and had stains on them. Overall we did like our stay here, because the staff was nice, the beds were comfy the food in the tavern ( we did take out twice , we stayed here twice. It was quiet, no noise or slamming doors etc. The grounds are beautiful very nice plants trees woods and grassy areas. The price on the room was pretty affordable for the area. We d stay here again
Room was musty old needs new rugs. Ask d for handicapped room at desk. Bathroom had tub.Room was 1/4 mile from restaurant . Old dilapidated motel room. Outlets did not work. An overpriced dump at 220. I need a partial refund. Have stayed in better places at half the price. Need a refund in this dump
We loved finding this historic inn and property. The grounds landscaping and flowers were outstanding- as a gardener I was in awe of the size and fullness of all the flowers and shrubs!
Our room was clean and lovely in Chamberlain house and situated next door to the historic building g. Great coffee macon e in lobby offered lattes and cappuccinos which were very good.
we ate at the Tap Room and food was pretty good- lots of comfort food dishes. Outdoor tables were nice but mosquitos were bad- should have some sort of lanterns or citronella lamps to decrease it.
Only critique is the Bake shop. pastries included with coffee /tea to overnight guests from 7-11 but very sparse offerings from 930
on. These should be replenished until 11 as it is an open bakery and they can and do sell anything g remaining. When we asked for more than the two items available, the young woman was not friendly and accomodating and stated the time which was 1030… a full half hour before end of breakfast service. We asked the other woman when she came out of the back and she was reluctant and also not accomodating. not good guest relations to have that experience. It was as if they wanted to put less out so guests would purchase all the other items instead. Not ok.
Otherwise a wonderful stay and we will return at Thanksgiving!
The property and grounds were well maintained and flowers/plants were gorgeous! We ate dinner at the pub which was delicious and our server was fantastic (Gregg). Pastries from the bakery were delicious as well.
The motor lodge is a bit outdated and the electrical outlets were not great (and were in odd spots). It would be nice to update electrical for phone charging, etc. Beds were comfortable. We were surprised by how many dogs were around the property (some not on a leash).
Overall, we enjoyed our stay!
