Great location for visiting the Neolithic sites. The house was wonderfully cosy with great views. We would definitely stay here again.

WHAT A FIND! When I was first looking for somewhere to stay in Stromness I have to admit that I was quite disappointed not to be able to find anywhere overlooking the harbour. Then I saw 'Withy Gill' listed on the website and booked for a 4 night stay in August. Having now had our holiday and wandered round Orkney and Stromness, how glad am I that I found it ! Simon the host contacted us a few times before our trip and always responded to any queries we had. The cottage itself is great, exactly as the description with lovely views over to the Hills of Hoy. The interior was immaculate and the furniture looks brand new, it is warm, cosy and somewhere I could quite happily live in with everything you need (including little extras like a welcome pack, the binoculars in the kitchen, games, reading books and snuggly throws in the living room :)) We will be returning to Orkney in the future and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.
