Phoebe at the front desk was very helpful. All the staff were kind, which allowed us to store our luggage before and after our stay so we could visit local shops and restaurants.

2 nights with Shakspear

No free parking locally. The hotel is in the town center with easy access to local sights and amenities. There is a lift at the hotel so handy for disabled persons. The beautifully decorated rooms are large and comfortable. The bar prices are expensive and any drinks or food hadled or served by waiters bears a 10 percent service charge. The room we booked was equiped with a lovely roll too bath and walk in shower. Unfortunatately for me on both mor ings of the stay my breakfast was of poor quality. The streaky bacon was inedible the tomato and mushroom overcooked and dry and black pudding on the first day dry and crispy Luckily the other 3 in the party chose eggs benedict or ommeletes all of which were very good..

Excellent stay!

We stayed for 1 night Sunday - Monday in September 2025 and had a great time. All the staff were very friendly (something I rarely say!), the room was comfortable, reasonably priced, and the breakfast was great, with a wide range. The main dining room is is full of character and the hotel is well located within a few minutes walk of many of the attractions. Would definitely stay again!

All staff we encountered were great, really went out of their way to make our stay special. Reception staff ensured that the flowers and Prosecco we ordered were delivered to our room prior to our arrival, they also added chocolates and a card, they were also very helpful and accommodating during our stay. The restaurant and bar staff were also very friendly and helpful, for instance when booking dinner for Sunday evening, to ensure availability of ingredients following a busy lunchtime, they reserved sufficient for our 8 o’clock booking. Overall, they didn’t make a fuss over our golden wedding anniversary weekend (which we didn’t want) but they did help to make it special. We will definitely stay at the White Swan when we next visit Stratford upon Avon. THANK YOU ALL. John and Anita

Room was clean but cold. We had to ask for blankets and a heater. The staff at the front desk didn’t know where the key sites were which was unusual given that the town is very small and there are only 3 main sites to visit. The restaurant was good but very rushed.

Weekend break

We were in a 'cosy' room at the far end of the hotel which meant it was generally quiet. Disappointed that there was no carpark or vouchers for the local parking so a 2 night stay had an additional charge for carpark that we weren't expecting. There was no information about this when we booked. Breakfast was excellent and cooked to order.

Good and bad

Location was perfect for shopping and restaurants. Our room was OK, bed was comfortable. We were given a handicap room next to the elevator, which we did not request or need. The bathroom was large but when taking a shower water was everywhere in the bathroom. The voice in the elevator could be heard in our room every time some one used it and overall the room was small and very dark, even with lights turned on. I did appreciate the history of the building and the breakfast was delicious.

Absolutely stunning room with one of the nicest bathrooms I've ever had in a hotel (we stayed in a deluxe room). Breakfast was great, location was walkable to everything we wanted to visit. Did I mention the bathroom? Massive copper bath and a big shower.
