Lovely building with lots of character and nice ambience. Very central to the town and easy to access the theatres. The supper and breakfast were beautifully prepared. The piano player in the restaurant was an added bonus. The room was comfy if a little chilly as the radiators were not working properly (an extra blanket would be good). The logistics of staying overnight were slightly tricky but the park'n'ride proved a cheap option and not too far away.

Bathroom dirty, room very hot had to sleep with windows open, dinner reservation not honoured as restaurant had closed down, breakfast staff excellent, food ok sausages tasted like frozen kids ones and no marmalade. General condition of property very poor, my 85 yr old Dad tripped at top of stairs on a threadbare hole in the landing carpet.

This property needs a bit of TLC It’s in a Good central location but parking is a nightmare I was disappointed that there was no food available and wasn’t advised before our arrival but saying that there was plenty other restaurants close by Staff where friendly and the bar was okay as for value for money 3/10

Large well appointed clean en-suite room in a lovely period property. The bathroom is showing signs of ageing (cracked floor tiles, shower tiling could do with a little treatment and wooden loo seat probably needs replacing). Lovely style overall in a super location but just a little tired in places.

Staff weren’t very welcoming. No food service on evening. Light bulbs not working in room. And being quizzed by staff who aren’t on duty asking us in the middle of the bar where we are going when we were resting to our room. Was absolutely not impressed.

We loved this place. The room was spacious, the bed was big and comfortable, and there was a refrigerator. The breakfast was great, as was the staff. The carpet was pretty worn on the stairs and halls, but everything else was in pretty good shape. We did have to park in the NCP parking lot a few blocks away, but that was no problem. And the location was wonderful-- for most of the Shakespeare activities, for the market, for the theater, and for great restaurants and stores. We would stay there again.
