Welcome to Cattail Chalet, O'Connell Cabin Co.'s sauna cabin on Lower Holly Lake, with a private wood-fired sauna you can see glowing from the deck at dusk. Built in 2019 in Stone Lake, Wisconsin, this is the stay people picture when they want the lake all day and heat in the evening.



A few things to know first:



-Parking is limited to 4 vehicles. The driveway is the only place to park, and it is not very big.

-We welcome up to 2 dogs. The pet fee is $150, and we ask that you declare pets on your reservation.

-If you are thinking of bringing your own boat, ATV, or snowmobile, get in touch so we can talk logistics. The road in is tight, and so is the driveway.



What makes Cattail Chalet different:



-Sleeps 10 in 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, with a finished walk-out basement. About 2,000 square feet. The fourth bedroom is an open loft.

-The custom wood-fired sauna seats 4. The building is made almost entirely from vintage reclaimed lumber. We supply fire starters, kindling, and firewood.

-Gas fireplace on the main floor.

-Screened-in porch and a large deck looking out over 48-acre Lower Holly Lake.

-Walk-out basement with ping pong.

-Full kitchen with a center island and a dining table that seats 10.

-Watercraft: 2 adult kayaks, 2 kid kayaks, a canoe, and a pedal boat. This cabin does not include a fishing boat.



Location and the outdoors:

Cattail Chalet is about 10 minutes from downtown Stone Lake and about 20 minutes from Hayward. Lower Holly Lake is a small, quiet 48-acre lake for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. The cabin sits on a snowmobile and ATV route, with CAMBA trails a short drive away for bigger rides.



Also included: firewood for the fire pit, a Blackstone gas griddle, high-speed internet, Smart HDTVs, laundry, and books and games.



Cattail Chalet is the O’Connell Cabin Co. cabin for the group that wants the sauna after a day on the lake.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned cabin, which features a fireplace and a Smart TV. There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected.
Take advantage of recreation opportunities such as a sauna, or other amenities including an arcade/game room and barbecue grills.

This cabin was absolutely perfect. Brad was a very communicative and informative host and my family and I all had a great time. Everything was clean and the area is super quiet. We especially loved all the outdoor activities available like the canoe and pedal boat, which my partner and I used to catch tons of fish on the lake. Highly recommend!

Great family weekend!!

We had a great family weekend at the Cattail Chalet! We enjoyed time spent with our kids, grandkids and grand dogs. We spent the weekend ice fishing, fired up the sauna and had a bonfire outside with s’mores.We played games and did a couple puzzles too. We were close enough to both Hayward and Stone Lake! The cabin was extremely clean and had everything we needed! Would highly recommend!!

Great Place for a Family Retreat

We had a great week at the Cattail Chalet with family. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed, with nice touches like the sauna and fire pit. We spent a lot of time outside; kayaking, fishing right off the dock, and just relaxing by the lake. The kids were thrilled to catch fish, and we all enjoyed hearing the loons in the evenings. It was the perfect spot for a mix of fun and downtime together as a family.

Great cabin with a nice sauna! Very well equipped and spacious. The only drawback is that the amenities on the website include "grill" but the "grill" is actually an outdoor griddle. We brought items to grill that would have been much better on a real gas or charcoal grill and were surprised to find a griddle.

This place has it all!!!

Awesome place, five year olds loved it all the way up to the grand parents. Communication was great with the host. Place was in great condition. Caught tons of fish off the dock and some larger bass in the canoe.
