Great motel with updated rooms

This place was perfect gor us to stage outings from Coopers Landing to Homer. The motel was clean with wooden floors that reminded me of my childhood cabin. The staff was very helpful. If your fishing the Kenai peninsula, this is a great place to base your outings.

Stayed 1 night in mid-March. I got the envelope with the key and instructions from the receptionist with a smile. Room was nice and quiet and warm. Fridge, microwave and coffee-maker. It is located right on the hwy 1 in Sterling. There some repairs going on, but not distructing. I would stay again.

The Hibernation Station is one of the highest rated properties in the Sterling area. Why? Because value. You are paying for a zero frills stay, and you get near zero frills. Bed, shower, coffee in the AM. That’s about it. But the place is very well kept and very clean, and is a bargain. I’d have absolutely no qualms staying there again, if I was looking for a no frills accommodation.

For an outdated building, it was very clean, staff was very nice, and I would stay there again. My only hope would be they consider updating at least the mattresses and pillows; they were super uncomfortable. Otherwise a great stay!
