Filthy run down flop house

It's some kind of homeless shelter and very dirty. Bed sheets had cig burns and "stuff" on them. Reeked of marijuana, bugs, flies in room.

I do not take leaving negative reviews lightly, but my recent stay at the Red Roof Inn in [Staunton, Virginia] was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The room was filthy — there were layers of dust, cobwebs, a broken soap dispenser, and even a used toilet paper roll left in the bathroom. The sheets were stained and had burn holes, despite this being a non-smoking room. The air smelled like dirty towels and mildew, making it nearly impossible to feel comfortable or clean. To make matters worse, my girlfriend slipped on cat feces near the pool area — absolutely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one that advertises cleanliness and hospitality. I contacted management immediately and requested a refund, only to be told that the room was “inspected” and no issues were found — which feels like a complete disregard for everything we experienced. I would strongly advise anyone considering this location to think twice. It’s not just dirty — it’s unsafe, unsanitary, and the management does not take guest concerns seriously.

All-in-all the stay was fine. I booked a room with 2 queens, but received a room with 1 king. This is of no consequence. I had a problem with the wi-fi, but the manager on duty worked on it immediately, and in less than ½ hour, the problem was resolved.
