The fire doors were propped open for 24 hours before I brought it to the staffs attention. They shut them, but several didn’t latch properly. This is a life safety violation. On a much more minor note, the coffee was the worst we had ever had. The breakfast lacked any substance. There was no eggs, bacon, sausage or potatoes. No hot options except toast and thawed frozen bagels.

Good hotel for the price

The main reason that I chose the Super 8 was that it was the only hotel near Monticello that was priced reasonably. The location was very convenient to places to eat and refuel. The room was adequate and the beds comfortable. The continental breakfast was nothing to write home about.

Made 3 separate requests (the first was 8 days prior via phone and email, followed by another request for online check in)for an accessible room due to recent knee replacement surgery. We were given the very last room at the end of the hall on the 3rd floor. The check in desk lady was very nice, but said every room was booked. After a hike up 3 flights of stairs and a long walk down the hall, the room smelled dank and like it hadn't been aired out in weeks. The window dosent open - turned on the air conditioning unit which was loud and smelled like burning hair. The bathroom had been wiped down except the "brown splashes?" On the walls were apparent. Threadbare towels and a ripped sheet were the finishing touches. The "breakfast" was burnt coffee, wonder bread bagels and sugary yogurt and cereal. Was not expecting much and that's what we got- actually got less than expected. Avoid! Never ever again.

It’s a budget motel so you get what you pay for, but the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The rooms are inside which provides a more feeling of security.

Location was good with easy access to the southern most entrance of Shenandoah National Park. One of the beds in the room looked to have stains on the sheets (like most hotels/motels at this price point), so we just slept in the other bed. Breakfast was lacking compared to other free breakfasts at similarly rated/priced hotels (frozen waffles, toast, bagels, cereal, watered down juice, coffee), but there are options nearby.
