As the most important town, Starigrad is exactly at the intersection of this unique landscape. The rocky coast, decorated with romantic coves, changes a few meters away in a beautiful pebble beach. Starigrad Paklenica is particularly suitable as a resort because of the unique combination of sea, pebble beaches, good gastronomy and mountains. Nearby you will find food stores, restaurants, cafés and a fruit and vegetable market.

Activities in the area: The area is perfect for people who want to actively spend their holidays with hiking, mountain biking and water sports. The Zrmanja River is ideal for canoeing. Also visit the Paklenica National Park, which is approximately 50 km north of Zadar between the coast and the highest peaks. The 400 meters of high cliffs, caves, caves and bizarre rock formations make this landscape a special nature experience. However, you will not only find an arid karst landscape here, because the steep rocky slopes are covered with closed and unusual pine forest because of the climate. Within the park there is a network of more than 150 km of hiking trails, which enable both short and multi-day hiking trips. The most popular walk takes about two hours and leads from the entrance to the park through the impressive Velika Paklenica gorge. Along the way you see different water mills, which are no longer in use but have been well preserved. And in the forest hut Lugarnica you can strengthen yourself with a savory snack.
