The location was good. The young lady who showed me to the room was lovely. However, the rest was not so good.
The curtains did not close properly. The room was extremely cold, which made sleep difficult, and it took a long time to work out why. The cause turned out to be an open window in the bathroom which I hadn't noticed as blinds were all down when I arrived. On closing the window the smell was terrible. As it was a room over a pub there was no one to complain to.
On closer examination in the morning the room was full of cobwebs with the addition of a spider. And there was water damage in the bathroom. However, on waking after a short sleep, I turned the extractor fan on and after a while the smell receded. I didn't shower in the morning though for fear of the smell returning.
This room number 4 needs a lot of tlc!
