Walking distance to all the shopping of Charolette Amalie. The most welcoming staff. Very clean rooms, the pool being open 24/7 is an awesome touch. I would recommend this stay to anyone! Especially couples. I wouldn’t say it’s fit for families or elderly-or those with a hard time climbing stairs. A few Minutes drive to the airport and Brewers Beach. YOU WONT REGRET your stay

The room was very clean and had great amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly. The space is beautiful and charming. Bartender and Restaurant staff were exceptional and the food was amazing. My only piece of feedback would be to add some lounge chairs near the pool. But next time I come back to St Thomas there is no doubt I’m staying at Hotel 1829!

It’s a stunning, unique hotel. One great way to keep the wrong people from visiting? Tell them that there are no televisions in the rooms! From my perspective, that’s a big plus! And it signals that this hotel, combines luxury, history, and is aimed at the type of traveler who did not come to watch TV..

Great location, nice hotel we had a great room with a view. The bad part, no help with luggage. A lot of steep stairs and uneven surfaces. Unless you’re in good physical shape, it’s a struggle.

The room itself was nice and adequate. However, the pool was very dirty, common areas in poor condition, WIFI was useless (extremely slow), had dinner plans for 7pm at the restaurant (reservation made by lady at front desk) and later called saying they weren't serving dinner.

Welcoming historic building. The staff was friendly and helpful for any in room needs and knowledgeable for recommendations in town for restaurants and shopping. The restaurant was delicious (the restaurant staff was friendly, personable and amazing), we were visited by the head chef/mastermind, mixologist and manager while dining and all interactions were fantastic. Our room had an amazing view of the harbor, the pool was great to relax and decompress in, the room was comfortable (didn't realize there was no tv or microwave when booking, this only upheld the historic atmosphere and allowed us to disconnect with the outside world and reconnect with the present). My only "cons" would be the number of stairs, but that is part of the charm and historic value this amazing hotel brings. I loved our stay on the island, and I loved our experience at Hotel 1829. I only wish we had more time to explore.

We really enjoyed staying at our his historic and recently renovated hotel. Rooms have lots of exposed brick and historic charm mixed with modern showers. Our room had a beautiful double door with shutters going out to a shared balcony that has a beautiful view of the bay in Charlotte Amalie. Easy walking distance to the bay and to numerous restaurants, bars, and shops in the area. Had a chance to talk to owner Jessica who took time to answer questions about the property and St Thomas. Renovations are ongoing on the backside of the hotel but did not hear them or disrupt our stay. Will book again when we circle back through the area later in the month. Thanks again!
