This is such a wonderful place to stay! I came here with some close friends and their kids. The house was very clean and the property manager sends you check-in information a couple of days before your trip so everything runs smoothly. All of the bathrooms came with soap, small bottles of shampoo and conditioner, and make-up wipes. The living room was large with lots of seating and a great TV to watch football! The kitchen was very well equipped with pots, pans, wine openers, can openers, pizza cutters, knives, etc. So we saved a lot of money cooking in! The kitchen even has a wine cooler and 3 types of coffee makers (original Nespresso, Keurig, and a standard coffee pot). The backyard was great and well lit! The beach is a 7 minute walk away if you access it through Fifth Street and a downtown area and pier are only a 15 minute walk away. Overall the adults and children had a great time! Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here :).

The house is very spacious. We loved the large table that was perfect for accommodating all 10 of us for games and eating. We loved the open lay out we did not feel crowded at all. The room with the large table had doors so when the women were laughing and playing games the guys could shut the door to watch the Super Bowl. The only thing minor things missing would be a few potholders and coffee cups. We would definitely recommend the house, great communication with the manager and if we were in the area with a larger group we would rent again.

This was a great property for my family. Plenty of rooms and bathrooms. The living space and kitchen was very spacious. The kitchen was well supplied. It was great to be a short distance from the beach and the town area. I would stay here again!

Lovely, spacious, beach and pier village nearby

Enjoyed the natural light, open floor plan, multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. Plenty of clean towels and bedding. Besides specifics in need of repair (see Vacasa direct email) and need of a deep kitchen clean (see above for specifics) we enjoyed the quick access to the beach, the sidewalk (or beach) stroll to the village, and having multiple places to dine inside was convenient. Overall, the ambience of Papa's Place is very pleasant indeed.

From the moment that we first walked through the door, the house had a terrible odor. That odor would get worse at times and smelled like sewage. Upon looking around it appeared as though the filters had not been changed in a long while. When attempted to do a load of laundry, the washing machine made a terrible noise, leaked, and did not work. The dryer did not dry the half cleaned clothes and the lint trap looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. A person in my party was stung multiple time by the wasps from the wasp nest on the front porch. Lastly, when I called to notify the property manager, I was asked to try to fix the items. We have been staying at St. Simons Island for over 10 years and this was by far the worst house we have rented.

Beautiful house in a perfect location!

The house comfortably accommodated our group of 6 and was perfectly situated within the town. Just a couple minute walk to the beach and shops. Not all of the bathrooms were perfectly cleaned but overall everything was very nice and tidy. Would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a great spot to stay in St. Simons!

Wonderful place for a family vacation!

I was a little hesitant at first because the price was much lower than what I found for other properties I looked at. But Papa's Place is exactly what was shown in the pictures in the advertisement. Wonderful, big open home with large bedrooms and comfortable beds. Big kitchen, great room, dining room and outside deck all connected and great for family gatherings. Great TV with comfortable furnishings. Plenty of hot water and lots of towels. Everything we needed for a great vacation!

St Simon Get-Together

The house was within walking distance to the pier and the great restaurants near it. Plenty of space for a large group like ours. The property manager resolved our request immediately after contacting them. Great value!

We recently stayed at the house with four of our adult children and spouses while my husband and I got married on East Beach. The house was large enough to fit us all comfortably. We were disappointed in the amenities and service. The house came with ONE trash bag, ONE dish towel, 4 coffee cups, etc. For a five bedroom house, we would expect at least a few trash bags! The ice maker did not work. One of the toilets upstairs did not work. We reported that it needed a new handle/flapper assembly at 10:30 AM on the first morning of our stay. A handyman showed up a few hours later, said he could not repair it then and would come back. He did not show back up until noon today when we were checking out (we paid for late checkout). If it is raining, as it was during our stay, the front outdoor steps are very slippery. There was visible mildew on the stairs and the entire outside front of the house. I wish the owners would check out the current condition of the house, including the poor collection of cookware, glasses, etc. Very disappointed in the Vacasa management if this house.

Great St Simon’s House + Locarion
