Very friendly Manager and staff. Slightly dated accommodation, made up by the views of the estuary and lovely breakfast. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a weekend getaway in a natural, leafy environment, but still within walking distance of the local eateries.

Wir fanden die Unterkunft klasse. Unser Zimmer Nr. 5 war etwas dunkel, weil die Terasse vor dem Eingang überdacht ist. Da wir eh immer unterwegs waren, war das für mich kein Problem. Alles sehr sauber und sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Fahre gerne dort wieder hin. Alle sehr sehr freundlich.

Great colonial style villa!!!

The decor of the place is amazing. As if you are in a colonial villa!!! The attention to the decorative detail in the house and the rooms is impeccable. Everything else just follows this level of experience. Would surely recommend to both families and romancing couples.

Zeer teleurstellend!

Helaas bleek bij aankomst, dat er een muur geplaatst was in de familie kamer die wij geboekt hadden. I.p.v. 2 slaapkamers met tussendeur, kregen we nu 2 kamers waarvan 1 kamer alleen vanaf buiten bereikbaar was en de andere alleen vanuit de ontbijtruimte. Om onze kinderen te bereiken moesten wij dus naar buiten en dan doorontbijtruimte. Wifi was slecht en in de ene kamer was er zelfs helemaal geen bereik. Op deze manier dus ook geen contact mogelijk met onze kinderen. Wij gaven dus aan liever een accommodatie te zoeken waar wij wel een familiekamer zouden krijgen. Echter zij waren niet bereid het bedrag,wat wij vooraf hadden betaald, terug te betalen!! Aangezien wij een behoorlijk bedrag betaald hadden voor 4 nachten, dus toch maar besloten te blijven. Wij hadden de familiekamer al in januari geboekt. Verbouwing was in maart. Wij verbleven half augustus.Accommodatie had ons dus van te voren kunnen laten weten van verbouwing, zodat wij zelf konden beslissen of wij boeking wilden annuleren of niet. Uiteindelijk ong. zestig euro terug gekregen, maar dit is niks in vergelijking met bedrag wat we betaald hadden. Na 18.30 is er niemand meer van het personeel bij de accommodatie en er is geen (toegangs)hek. Iedereen kan dus zo het terrein op. Dit voelde niet veilig. Mijn man sliep dus met onze dochter en ik met ons zoontje. Voor de ramen geen gordijnen, maar vitrage. Bij beoordeling overal 1 voor gegeven, omdat onze zeer terechte klacht uitermate slecht opgelost is.

Excellente situation dans la ville de St Lucia au fond d'une impasse bien éclairée la nuit et à moins de 500m du centre ville. Le jardin est super bien entretenu et il n'est pas rare de voir passer singes, mangoustes, pintades sauvages et même des hippopotames. La chambre a des dimensions suffisantes mais sans excès et la terrasse privée est très sympathique. La fenêtre jalousie ne ferme pas vraiment et celle de la salle de bain de la chambre n°6 donne directement sur les logements des employés; les désagréments liés à cette proximité gâche un peu la tranquillité de l'endroit.

Hübsches Hotel am Rande von Santa Lucia

Die Anlage des Hotels liegt am Ende der Hauptstrasse von Santa Lucia und liegt direkt am Fluss! So steht man morgens auf und kann gleich einige Tiere in der Anlage beobachten! Der Garten und der Frühstückraum sind sehr, sehr schön! Die Zimmer sind ein wenig veraltet und auch sehr klein, allerding hat uns das nicht wirklich gestört! Das Personal ist super und sehr hilfsbereit! Wir kommen gerne wieder

Beautiful and clean lodge

The room is beautiful and very clean, it looks new. The outside area is very nice and the location is quiet. The only thing that can be a problem for a guest is that the room was very light inside at night. The outside lights shining inside the room can be a problem. It might be a good idea if the room had blackout curtains for the guests that prefer a darker room at night.

A small, comfortable gem

Set in a lovely garden overlooking the St Lucia estuary, this delightful B&B is actually an old family home that has had a number of accommodation modules added of which there are 2 types; self-contained family units and smaller rooms suitable for couples. Each unit is pleasingly decorated with an African theme and has an en suite bathroom (bath and shower). In addition there is a very comfortable bed fitted with full mosquito netting, efficient split unit air conditioning and a private patio equipped with sofa, cushions and comfortable chairs where you can sit and enjoy the lovely sub-tropical garden without being overlooked by other guests. Breakfast, which is taken in the old house with a full view of the garden, is excellent and includes decent coffee, fresh fruit and full cooked English-style if desired. Situated at the end of a small road that runs down the spine of the St Lucia peninsula, the location is quiet yet within easy walking distance of the main street where there are a variety of good restaurants, cafes and other facilities. Security is good though care is needed at night when hippos commonly leave the quiet waters of the lagoon and come into town to graze. We were told that hippos have been known to come into the garden from the estuary to drink from the pool! Grey monkeys are common in the area and visit daily to explore and entertain. Overall Kingfisher Lodge provided a very pleasant and relaxing we happily recommend this excellent establishment.

This is a small B&B with hippo and crocodile viewing available nearby. We had our own "outdoor" room with couch, table, and chairs. Maureen, the manager, was very helpful with suggestions for dinner and nearby attractions. She also warned us about the danger of hippos wandering the grounds and the streets of St. Lucia after dark. There are many miles of lightly populated beaches (at least in winter with highs in the 70s and 80s F). The estuary tour with mostly hippo and some croc viewing is not to be missed. The Croc Centre completes the croc viewing experience. We were allowed to handle a 2-yr-old croc.

De wijziging die ik had doorgevoerd bij Expedia, een nacht extra en eerder, was niet goed bij de locatie bekend. Wij kwamen vervolgens precies op een moment dat alle kamers bezet waren. Dit werd zeer netjes opgelost, door ons in het huis zelf te plaatsen. Kamers/huis zijn wel erg vochtig. Geen idee of dit te maken heeft met het feit dat we er waren in de winter of dat het altijd zo is. Werd keurig opgelost door ons een klein heatertje te geven in de kamer. Huis en kamers zouden niet misstaan in een lifestyle magazine ! Aan de muur hangen borden dat je na zonsondergang moet oppassen voor hippos. Dat bleek niet onterecht ! Na terugkomst van een restaurant stak er eentje de weg over. Bij een volgend bezoek aan Saint Lucia zullen we zeker deze accomodatie weer reserveren.

Noys y sommes restés pour 2 nuits pout visiter la region de St-Lucia pour explorer les environs.Très beau jardins bieb entretenus, bien situé, près du parc de Isimangaliso. Déjeuner inclus deltrès ux et personnel accueillant. Wifi et parking gratuit. Chambre confortable et propre. Possibilité de faire faire de la lessive ($). Tranquille, belle terrasse privée pour chaque chambre a l'extérieur. Décoré avec goût nous avons adoré notre séjour et recommandons vivement cet établissement.

Guesthouse in St Lucia

A very attractive guest house at the end of a quiet cul de sac in the village of St Lucia....beautiful interiors to the communal areas - lounge, breakfast room and garden. The lawned garden leads down to the estuary and is a real feature - lovely views and comfortable outside seating area with pool. We saw deer and monkeys in the garden. Our room had a fabulous, huge, comfortable bed. Fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. The bathroom was functionable but outdated. There was a large terrace at the front of the accommodation with sofa and table and chairs - we were looking forward to making use of this, however, it was unusually hot and humid whilst we were there and, with no fan on the terrace, it was too uncomfortable to sit out there. St Lucia has a range of eateries and shops. We had hoped to be able to walk out in the evening , however, at the time of our stay, a hippo had taken to coming out of the estuary and making its' way up the guest house lawn and crossing near the car park/entrance area and onwards. The guest house being in a dark section of the street, we decided not to take the risk of walking. Slightly exciting and slightly scary returning from an evening meal to the car park, wondering whether you might run into a hippo !! Certainly different !
