My daughter, two grandkids and I thoroughly enjoyed a five day stay. Every member of staff was friendly and so helpful. Our family room was massive, overlooking the bay and had everything we needed including a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. The pools were very clean and the restaurants served great food.

We had a great time at this hotel. The bus stop was right outside which was very convenient to get to and from the airport/Valletta. The sea-view room we had was very clean and spacious and all the staff were very welcoming and polite. There was plenty of choice at breakfast for everyone so overall a great hotel in a great location. Don’t let the building work over the road put you off !

Building Work and College Club

Whilst the staff are lovely, I would not go back. They are next to a massive building site which is not expected to be completed until next year and they let a pool out to a language college for young adult's (18 - 25). We were moved three times in our stay.

The staff is nice but the hotel needs to be upgraded and have better staffing for housekeeping. The rooms are nice but older with only one useable outlet away from the beds. No usb charging. Bathroom had what looked like mold due to the bathroom door not being able to stay open thus trapping the heat in there. Toliet required multiple pull of the handle to flush properly. Rooms on the 1st and 2nd floor are below the reception floor. The first floor is the basement level. The hallway smells of dirty cleaning products and you walk.out of the elevators and are greeted to the view of a kitchen. The hallways are dark and feels like you are on a cruiseship. The balconies on the first floor are level with people walking by and able to climb in if they wanted to. Not a nice feeling or view. Second floor is a bit better since people can't just climb into your balcony. The lounge chairs in front of some of the rooms is not part of the hotel but instead for EF company. So there will be a bunch of young students outside your balcony that aren't hotel guest and hotel guests can't access that area even though it's in front of your room. Housekeeping needs to be better managed. One day they knocked on out door at 8:30am to clean the room. Another day we left at 8:30 am and came back at 3pm to a room that still hadn't been cleaned. There excuse was that they were fully booked and prioritized rooms that were being turned over. This poor scheduling of staff or they are short staffed.

The hotel has three shared pools with its neighbouring hotel (one of which is adult only) and access directly to the sea. It has several in site restaurants, a cafe and bars. We only ate in the restaurant once for dinner and it was expensive and pretty average. The breakfast buffet is ok - decent variety, but awful coffee, so we ended up using the hotel cafe each morning. We had a superior sea view room, which was spacious and well equipped, but be aware these rooms can be on the ground floor with people walking directly past your patio and able to see into our room. On the other side of the hotel is a large building site where other hotels are being constructed. We didn’t hear any noise from this (no work at night) but I imagine if your room faces it it’s less appealing. The staff were very helpful, particularly the manager, and arranged for us to be moved when there was an issue with our room. Finally, we had not realised when we booked that a few hundred metres away is Paceville, which is the party capital of Malta. Think Magaluf, with fewer Brits and more Europeans - hordes of 16-25 year olds, banging bass music, discarded pizza and rubbish everywhere in the morning. The Maltese do a good job of cleaning it up quickly, and it’s a very good natured scene, but you can definitely hear the music from the beach bars in your hotel room at night - and it goes on until about 6 am. So bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. Overall, a lovely holiday and a good hotel.

We booked a stay at Verdi in a Family Room Sea View (Superior) based on the photographs and description given by the property, but were sorely disappointed on arrival to be given a tired looking, queen/twin room masquerading as a family room. The decor and furnishings were old and the balcony was blatantly made for 2 people. I queried this with the hotel who were adamant this was a "superior" family room and had to involve Expedia. We were then told we could move to another family room after 2 days which was a lot more like the room I expected, but still somewhat tired looking. During the 2 days wait in the first room, we had students from the room above tipping beer and god knows what over their balcony which would make it's way into ours. We eventually moved to an actual family room. However, we got the feeling that some of the staff were affronted by this and gave us somewhat of a cold shoulder. The cleaning staff were great, very thorough and friendly. Breakfast was lovely, although one day we were told that we were already in having breakfast, which obviously wasn't the case. They did let us in but again, not without an accusatory look. The surrounding area was brilliant if you were a student or a couple. The pools were very busy as they are mainly on the site of another sister hotel. Nearby beach was gravel and cigarette butts so not great. But Sliema was easily reached with a 45 minute work. Would not stay here again. Or recommend to a family.
