This was our third trip to St. John and our first time staying at Orchid. We took a chance staying at Orchid because we do not typically stay in residences sharing walls with other guests (my wife is particularly annoyed by noise from other people), but it was a non-issue. We did occasionally hear the guests in the units above, but only really when we were both outside on our balconies at the same time (which was for about 15 minutes the entire time we stayed). We had minimal carryover while inside the unit and only on 2 occasions actually heard footsteps from above (both units were occupied during our stay), things seemed to be well soundproofed. Orchid is a bottom floor unit with two other units above. The owner’s residence is located within eyeshot of the casa. The pool and hot tub are also shared both with the units above and the owners, we used the hot tub daily (which we had to ourselves and was glorious!) but did not use the pool (it was small and is located within the gated area of the owner's home). The unit itself had functional beach chairs which we used every day. We did a lot of cooking during our stay and had notes from the kitchen: there is a functioning ice maker! There are minimal provisions (BYO)- the only thing it could use is several larger bowls for mixing. The unit was clean and fully functional and adequate for our needs. The owners also have a sweet tabby cat Peter that visits often and is very affectionate! Overall great stay, we will book again!
