Forest was amazing. My wife needed to work remotely one day. There wasn't a chair at the desk so Forest gave us one to use. Then he loaned us a power cord for her laptop AND he brought his person internet hotspot the next day just in case they had Internet issues again. Then there was a water disruption and we chose to leave a day earlier. He was very accommodating and refunded us for the missing nights rental. He truly went above and beyond. Thanks from the Hills.

Bottom line up front - would I stay here again? Yes! This is a special place on the Forgotten Coast. Underdeveloped, peaceful, with much natural beauty. The room is furnished with personal care necessities, a refrigerator, microwave, and in-room coffee. In the morning, coffee is also available in the lobby to enjoy on your sunrise beach stroll. To enhance your stay, bring bottled water (the tap water is not great), slippers or sandals (the floors are hard-surfaced and you will track in some sand), and lawn chairs to sit outside and enjoy the view.

Our room was beachfront but the balcony was not private and we were unable to open windows. The motel is under new ownership and going through renovations, which should give it the needed update. It was clean except our floors had residual sand and our bath drain was clogged with previous guests hair. Pillows were awful. Advised on checking in no room cleaning unless requested despite a 3 day stay. We have no problem reusing our towels but some cleaning is warranted with a beachfront motel. Room was spacious and for a 2 star hotel it was adequate. Returning to SGI we will definitely rent a beachfront house as it’s way more reasonable in price comparison.

Although the first room wasn’t up to our expectations and the neighbors were extremely loud, the front desk staff were very kind and offered a different room and when that was just as bad with the noise they gave us one last room. If it wasn’t for that kindness in switching we would have driven back to Monticello. Thank you for giving us a quiet room in the end and being kind.
