I never actually saw the inside of the original unit, and that’s part of the problem. I booked this condo back in November for a spring break trip to St. Augustine for a concert and a few relaxing days at the beach. After doing extensive research and reading reviews, I chose what looked like a beautiful unit.About a month before our stay, I was informed that the owners decided to use their condo, and we were required to move to a different unit. I’ve rented many homes and condos over the years, and this has never happened. I was honestly shocked that our reservation could be canceled on such short notice.The property manager offered us another unit in the same building at the same price, so I assumed it would be comparable in quality. Unfortunately, it was not. The condo we stayed in for three days was very dated and clearly in need of significant updates. While we made the best of our time there, it was not a pleasant stay.After raising these concerns, the manager offered a 10% discount, which felt inadequate given the difference in quality. In my opinion, the unit we received should have been priced at least 100 less per night. This is my first time writing a negative VRBO review, but I feel it’s important to share this experience. Based on what happened, I would not consider this a reliable booking option.
