'TOP' Notch!

Yes there are 70 stairs (counting the 10 outside) to get to this top floor apartment but who cares? It's Split and you're on vacation!! The space itself is roomy, clean, and comfortably equipped. Host Ivan is most gracious and very helpful. Biggest concern? Getting bags up and down those stairs. Solution? People are so nice, 2 men simply helped us for free when we arrived. When we left we offered a promising young student 100 Kuna to bring them down and out to the promenade. So again, STAIRS, but who cares?? Loved it here!

Heart of Split - Amazing Location & Service

Best location in the heart of Split's happening city centre! Ivan, our host, despite recovering from surgery, ensured my friends and I were taken care of with our luggage and room comfort. Despite being on the 3rd floor with only stairs, room was very clean, bathroom was modern and we even had a kitchenette. Bit noisy with nightlife at night. Breakfast was awesome - choice of eggs and omelettes, so it was hearty - though it was tough to find the restaurant, without being shown the location which is only mins offsite. Luckily we had another guest show us where it was. Would recommend strongly! We love Split and can't wait to return! PS. Restaurant just outside the entrance of the guesthouse - Kitchen 5 has Amazing food too - bit pricey Awesome!

Great location, fantastic room

We had a great stay in this newly completed group of rooms, we were on the top floor which was a couple of flights of stairs but not a problem if your active like us.... The location was fantastic, 2 minute from main harbour, breakfast is provided by a local restaurant and was basic but fine, coffee great. Only negative is there is no desk but we were greeted at the taxi and shown around and to our room, other than that a lovely time was had by all!

Beautiful townhouse, with nice rook in centre

The building and room were both lively as was the host Slight delay in getting the keys but luckily Split is a lovely place with lots of places to have a drink :)

Good place to stay if you are independent

There is no reception desk and no staff on duty during the day. The only regular visitor is the cleaning lady. After some confusion over our arrival time and having to wait at the neighbouring bistro (keep your phone on for messages) the owner (Ivan) let us into the apartment. It was compact clean and tidy with everything we needed: fridge, TV and air-con in the bedroom shower, toilet and sink in the bathroom. All recently installed. One bed-side shelf had fallen from the wall, but this was the only issue. The building is in the medieval old town surrounded by 3 bistro/restaurants. They were not too noisy (even with the World Cup on the outside TVs) and if we wanted an early night we just closed the double-glazed windows and shut out the chatter. The staff in the nearby Bistros were friendly and served good food too. The stairs would be a problem for anyone with limited mobility.

Great place in the heart of Old City Split

Small yet adorable studio in Old City, with 2 eateries right below and in the middle of all things wonderfully Split. The owner was ver accomodating and I would wholeheartedly reccomend booking this place!

double booked !

Arrived at Diocles Apartment, there was nobody there to greet me. Another guest phoned owner and a third party was sent who took me outside of the old town to another apartment which was not associated with the Diocles Apartment. I was informed that I had been double booked. I am extremely annoyed as I wasted my time and was only in Split for the day. In addition to that my new accomodation was 3 star compared to 4 star booking. Also I had to walk back to Diocles for a very poor breakfast.

Great studio in Split

Great location in the heart of old town Split. Cafe below quiets down by 11. Small but recently renovated with spacious bathroom and comfortable large bed. Very friendly and helpful staff. Adequate breakfast buffet included at a nearby restaurant. Excellent value!

Superb location & staff

New apartments in Old Town, spacious with lot of natural light. Breakfast in a nearby restaurant. Diokles team helpful and professional like in a 5 star hotel. Highly recommend.

Excellent apartment in the heart of the old town.

This was a great apartment. It is in the walls of the palace and right in the heart of the old town, just perfect access to everything in Split. The apartment is spacious and well equipped, and was cleaned immaculately each morning of our stay. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of storage. A really excellent breakfast was provided at a lovely restaurant in a beautiful Rennaissance square a five minute walk away. The manager was helpful and everything was very easy going. A great place to stay and this was incredible value for money.

Newly renovated , good size apartment , excellent service , nice breakfast , great central location however the one thing we didn't get was the King size bed as we booked the apartment with 1 King+Sofa bed but we had 1 double bed+Sofa bed in our apartment which was a bit disappointing otherwise all great

Perfect location, luxury apparment

The location was perfect for a city break. The guesthouse was in the Palace which meant you were in the Center of the tourist attractions. Staff were really helpful and I would reccomend this guesthouse.

A bit tough to find but the owners of the property were very welcoming and even arranged to take us to the airport the next morning. Lovely apartment with tons of space located in the middle of the city but still very quiet. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect, a delight, amazing location and apartment

I stayed with my husband and baby in August on the way to Korcula Island. This place was absolutely amazing, large and beautifully renovated flat in the ancient city wall. Perfect central location and staff could not be more helpful, picked us up at airport for very reasonable price, helped us with our luggage, all in all this is a fantastic place and we only wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect little apartment in great area

This is a great find. Two blocks off the water and an easy stroll to everything. Modern room. Incredibly friendly staff that is eager to help arrange anything you are looking for. Fun little cafe/bar downstairs. Good value for your $.

Great hospitality and a very pleasant stay

The room was very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was brand new and had rain shower head which was a bonus. Finding it was a bit tricky due to the organic layout of the area however if you ask about the fish market as a landmark, you can't miss it. We were asked if we needed anything else daily and the breakfast at the nearby restaurant was delicious. Vlatka was very polite and he gave us a lift to the airport which was extremely helpful. We would highly recommend this guest house if you would like to be adjacent to the Palace and plenty of cafes and restaurants.

Not Worth the Price

Pros: (1) Convenient - in the heart of old town. (2) Clean and spacious. Cons: (1) It is not a hotel. You must have a cell phone to contact their staff when checking in and for assistant. (2) Staff did not answer to our assistant request - never showed up. (3) A restaurant is just outside the room, separated only by the room door. Noisy until midnight.

Great Private Apartment in the Middle of Split

Great hotel location and great interior, although it is off a back street in Split and doesn't have the best entrance way. The address isn't the one given on the booking, that's the main guest house and breakfast cafe. This is about a 5 minute walk away from the apartment. It doesn't have a full sized bath but otherwise all of the amenities are great, including a decent air con.

Stop in Split

Right outside the palace walls, this place was perfect. Spotless and walking distance to everythibg, including the bus station and ferry terminals. Best place we stayed in Croatia.
