The hotel has lots of character as it is built within the walls of the very old palace but the room is fully modernised. The bed is comfortable and the room is clean and well maintained If you are arriving from the airport, definitely take advantage of the driver service to the hotel. If you are arriving after hours, make sure you have the phone number of the manager so you can get in.

Location, Comfort & Value

The location of these rooms is wonderful. Falcon, our host, greeted us enthusiastically soon after arrival with much information about our stay and the local dining options. The room was very comfortable with a stocked mini-bar. This was a welcome treat. The showers were hot with plush bath towels, bathrobes and slippers. The history of the Diocletian Palace is right there in the room with a stone wall and windows that are a testament to the history of this building. The breakfast at the LVXOR Hotel (2 minutes away) was delicious and served in yet another part of the palace overlooking the square. There were so many dining options with 1 to 5 minutes from the rooms. Falcon would have taken us to the airport but we had already prepaid for a ride. Overall, this was a fantastic three nights in Split.

Split stay

The room we booked was not the room we were given on arrival. The owner said all the rooms were the same but they don't appear to be on Hotels.com website, different colour decor etc. We booked the larger 20sq metre room but the room we were given was not it. Nothing could be done as the hotel was booked out. We feel that there must have been miscommunication regarding room photos between Grgur Ninski rooms and Hotels.com. There was nothing wrong with the room we stayed in, just disappointing it wasn't the room we booked.

the entrance is not accessible by car so the owners tried to co ordinate a time to help us with the bags. No elevator but easy to walk into old town. Breakfast is off premises.

Great location in the old town of split. Everything you need is walking distance. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was included along with other perks. We arranged for transportation to and from the airport. Very punctual. They suggested local restaurants. Everything was wonderful and I will go back when I visit again.

Don’t pass up the opportunity to stay at Grgur Ninski Rooms. Beautiful & unique. Difficult to find but owner, Falkland, met us outside the Diocletian’s Place west main gate. Stones throw from there. Owner very helpful. Rooms adorable. Nicely decorated. Refreshing drinks in fridge was a nice welcoming gift. Walking around easy, lots to enjoy & explore in the palace. Waterfront & excursions through the east gate. Amazing!
