We loved our stay at the River Hotel! We’ve stayed a lot of places in Southport, and this was hands down the best. Housekeeping staff was wonderful and so sweet, the room was great, and having the pool and beachfront access was ideal! Easy walk or golf cart ride to downtown for shopping, restaurants, etc. Just down the road from Deep Point Marina and the ferries too!

After decades of coming to Southport we just stayed here for the first time for our last minute day trip. Loved staying here and will come back. Just far enough away to be peaceful but close enough to be in the middle of downtown in 2 minutes! Room was clean and well stocked. Pool and beach access were well kept and convenient.

The room was clean and comfortable except the bed, just way too soft for us. The balcony had a beautiful view of the river. The pool area nice and clean, we will stay again. The hotel was in a good location, close to everything that we wanted to do while there.
