This is an older property with lots of character. Located near the downtown area, there are lots of dining choices within walking distance. There could be some work done in the interior to make it more appealing but the room was clean, comfortable and, even though we faced the main street, quiet. Breakfast was quite nice with a very good selection. Staff was very friendly.

Hotel was small but our room was great. No AC but not unexpected. Was there on supposedly record setting heat day but there was a fan in the room so wasn't unbearable. We came back to The Star as we stayed here 18 months ago. You simply can’t beat their location. Pubs, restaurants, shopping, old Southampton and its heritage building. And the history of the Titanic.
