Smell of sewage in room happens a lot staff say

Terrible smell of sewage in the bedroom. Issue was raised with staff before going down to dinner and staff member acknowledged that she knew exactly what it would be and would get it sorted straight away. It happens all the time. After returning from dinner the smell was even worse after waiting nearly half an hour to see the manager we were left sitting in reception from around 9:30 till just before midnight waiting to see if they would give us another room or if it would be out on the streets Eventually they found us another room. Have romantic night away was completely ruined and all they offered us in way of compensation was a free breakfast completely unacceptable.

Beautiful Hotel.

We stayed on a Sunday night having been on a Sea Seekers charter during the day. The hotel had their own parking, allowed us to leave our luggage in the morning & we finally checked in around 7pm & our luggage was in our room. The room (331) was lovely, nice views over the harbour & was spotless, very comfy & well equipped. We had dinner in the Jetty restaurant & the food & service was excellent. Overall a great stay.

Great location and food

Great hotel and location. Food in the HarBar in the evening was gorgeous. We stayed in a room on the 5th floor which was a little noisy with the music from the 6th floor. Would definitely stay again.

Very nice hotel at a premium price (IMO). However it seems they need to do more maintenance on the room, there were many nice amenities such as a towel warmer, unfortunately that did not work. Overall this was a nice hotel we would be happy to stay at again.

A very special hotel- modern yet warm!

From the fabulous staff at check in, to the gorgeous comforts of my cozy double this hotel really is quite special. If it is first class hospitality and modern yet warm luxury you are looking for then this is for you. There is even complementary gin in the room ( shame I was on business) I didn’t make it up to the roof top bar- but hear it’s amazing- but I did sit out on my beautiful balcony over looking the yachts. To finish it off the gym is pretty impressive for a hotel gym !

We have stayed at this hotel many times, probably over a dozen, using it as our pre-and post-cruise hotel. Until now, the service has always been excellent. Unfortunately, during our most recent stay, we had a very disappointing experience with the new manager. She was tall and wearing a black vest, though I was unable to get her name. When we asked if she could check the status of our room, she dismissively replied that check-in was not until 3 pm, without even checking the system. Her tone was condescending and her behavior toward my wife came across as discriminatory and unprofessional. This was very upsetting and unlike any experience we’ve had at this hotel in the past.

Issues with the room, not configured well for make up/hair styling/shaving. The bed was so high, needed to take a running jump. Breakfast was OK. Not great service and a funny set up with it all being laid out on the bar. Really poor check out service. Warning: car parking is £2 more than the website tells you. Bar closes at 10ish so no night cap and was closed the night before for a private function.

The hotel is good: the room and bed comfortably (although the bathtub at the foot of the bed was a silly idea!) appreciated the complementary gin! Silliest light switches ever - had to call reception for instructions on how to switch off the lights! No easy way to contact reception - had to use my mobile to call central switchboard, then press 0. HarBar restaurant was okay, good service, but overpriced. All in all: not quite 5 stars, pretending to be something they’re not. Somewhat disappointing!
