STAY AWAY

We were in the Herculeum room and it needs major TLC, the pillows are awful, no spare blanket, only a thin coverlet on the bed. The bathroom is absolutely disgusting, there is a shower door missing so water goes out onto the post and on the floor which means it is rusted everywhere and dirty. I sent a message on what’s app asking to change rooms and never received a reply when not long before, they had sent me the code to check-in. The first morning, the cleaning lady just came in our room at 8:15 without knocking and when we spoke she left. Who does that? Apart from the location where this B&B is, there is nothing good about this place.

Abysmal

I have never experienced such a poor B&B as this. The photos show a lush garden with plenty of seating outside, instead, there’s an unkempt lawn with overgrown grass and plants. We were contacted by WhatsApp on the morning of our arrival to ask about our ETA. I replied promptly & heard nothing back until we had been standing outside the gate for 10 minutes ringing the buzzer to no avail. I then had a barrage of messages with codes for the gate & for our room, along with directions on finding our room. We had other guests asking us for the gate code during our stay as they hadn’t been informed. We found the door handle to the bathroom lying on the sink unit & no handle actually on the door, just a key in the bathroom door lock. We then found that the toilet seat was completely detached from the toilet itself. I immediately contacted the owner who said that he would check it. We were told the following morning that he was having a contractor come in to sort it. The handle was put back in place, but still felt very loose when being used. The toilet was not fixed during our stay at all. We came back from a day out to find that the door to our room had been left open by the housekeeping staff. I brought this to the attention of the owner who apologised & he has paid our hotel tax by way of apology. Twice we had the housekeeper knocking on the door before 9am asking if we were going out. Didn’t feel we could relax & get ready at our own pace. Only positives are the location & WiFi.
How are you supposed to shut a door when the handle is not attached??

Great location, lovely spacious room, and good breakfast with freshly cooked eggs. There isn’t someone on site all the time so if you wanted to drop bags / check in early, I would suggest messaging via WhatsApp or text, rather than email ir through Hotels.com, to make arrangements so you’re not hanging around.

Not a good stay!

My partner and I were not impressed on arrival. The room was cold and complimentary items such as coffee milk etc were not stocked. We had to ask for extra bedding as bed had only a thin bedspread. A quilt was found and brought to the room. The pillows and mattress were very hard so I had poor sleeps. We were offered a breakfast tray as we were on an early tour but to our surprise one was not left, even though we had paid for breakfast. There was no receptionist in the agternoon / evening and if there was an issue you had to send a text. We checked out early but the manager would not negotiate a fair refund. He said, 'hotels.com sorted the money' after he kept me waiting for 10minutes and then closed the door to the kitchen. So unprofessional. Would not recommend this place at all.

This was an excellent place to stay in Sorrento. It's nothing fancy but very clean and comfortable. You can't beat the location. Breakfast was included and was delicious. Staff were very courteous and helpful. The only issue was our toilet seat was broken but it wasn't a huge problem.

Excellent accommodation

Excellent accommodation, easy walk from the station, easy to find and close to everything. As a solo female traveller I felt very safe and would highly recommend. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice, nothing was any problem you just have to ask. Thank you for helping make my stay in Sorrento fabulous

Great location within walking distance to the city center. Secure parking onsite foe 20 euros per night which is a bargain compared to the other public and private lots. Staff was friendly and helpful.

This is a great value for the price. Large room and large bathroom, very clean. The host was exceptional in his help. This location is hard to find, as I had to call host and he met us outside to show us the way in - I would have never found it on my own. My only complaint is parking. there is a paid lot behind hotel that charged 36 euros upon departure. however, a sign in hotel indicated parking for 15 euros. I did ask host if I was parked in correct place so I was surprised by the high cost when we left. It should be more clear on their listing as to where to park and how much to pay-that is my only complaint!

Horrible experience with this B&B! My friends and I stayed here for 2 nights in October 2024. Upon arrival, it was very difficult to find this B&B with the address leading us somewhere different. When we finally found our way to the front of the B&B we arrived at a locked gate with no instructions of how to get in. Another guest eventually let us in. During our stay we had several instances of being locked out of the front gate, front door, and difficulty getting into our room. Once in our room it was noted that both our AC and safe were not working. We spoke with the receptionist who said she would let the owner know but no follow up happened during our stay. It was rainy in Sorrento while we stayed and unfortunately a flash flood occurred our first night. We were awoken by banging on our door. When I stepped down my foot went into water that came up to my ankle. All of our belongings were in the water on the floor with several items being damaged. The owners sent maids to mop our rooms. This was the only help we were offered. We had limited hangers to hang our clothes to dry them. On the day of check out we requested a late check out to allow our clothes more time to dry - this was declined. So we packed our soaking wet items into our bags and went to check out. I sent emails to the B&B requesting compensation with no response. Expedia has also reached out on my account with no response. Horrible customer service and communication!

Our stay here was wonderful and by far the best value for money on our entire trip. The location is ideal to visit the center of Sorrento. Our room was clean and had a small private terrace overlooking the garden and eating breakfast (included in the price of the room) in the garden was a delight. The owner and his wife are lovely. Can’t recommend this place enough.
