Great Place to Stay in Sonoita

We have stayed at the Sonoita Inn several times and would highly recommend it. We love the historic element, and its association with Secretariat. It has a rustic decor and a real “bed-and-breakfast” feel about it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We love the common area with the fireplace and the table for games and activities. While playing cards there, we have had the pleasure of meeting several people from different cities in Arizona. Also, The Steak Out Restaurant is located right next door within walking distance. Several nights during the week they have various western bands playing. The Inn is in close proximity to many wine vineyards. On our most recent stay, we discovered the Empire Ranch and took a self guided tour at no charge. We really enjoy all the history of the whole area!

Pretty good value for money and right in the middle of the wine country. Would be nice if it was a little quieter in the morning and in the evening. Stuff for Nies and attentive. Free breakfast was adequate.

The room was clean but the bed is the one Fred and Wilma used......like a ROCK. There was no one around if you need something. You are given a key to the building and let yourself in and out.

Love this place!

Always love staying here! Rooms are great and the staff is friendly. It’s location is convenient for doing a wine tour and right next to the Steakout restaurant for dinner and dancing!

This is a rustic in located in farm country with 20+ wineries within 12-15 miles. It sits along the Main Street with several restaurants in walking distance. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the local area, restaurants and wine country! Tabitha was fantastic!

We stayed here for our 25th wedding anniversary and it couldn't have been more perfect! The room was large enough for my husband's wheelchair to move around, we were close to the outside door where we could load everything in! I appreciated that there were Kleenex and ample garbage cans. Location was perfect amongst all the wineries and most important the staff was impeccable!

AZ Wine Country

We've stayed here before and really liked it. I'm not sure what changed, but we weren't as enamored this time. The bed really hurt my back, which says more about my back than the bed, but regardless I don't remember that being a problem in the past. It's the off-season in July and the place was completely empty, which made it quiet, but also sort of strange. "The Shining" kept creeping into my head. The staff were very nice when we would bump into them with limited hours of coverage. I still like the place and enjoy the rustic feel and decor. Your choices in Sonoita are limited, so give it a chance and see what you think.

Cozy with a western flair

Very good experience overall just a very noisy A/C unit. The manager is a very nice and knowledgeable individual who goes out of her way for guests. Made us feel welcome and at home. We only stayed for one night but I wouldnt hesitate to do it again!

I love it and want to go back!

I had such an excellent stay at the Sonoita Inn. I went for a few days over 4th of July because my dog is terrified of fireworks, we like to get out of the city and stay somewhere quiet. The lady at the desk was SO welcoming of me and my dog! She provided a set of "dog sheets" so that my dog could lie on the bed with me and not be concerned with getting his hair on the regular sheets. This was glorious. I didn't have a micro or fridge in my room, but she offered to let me use the ones in the lobby (which are typically for the continental breakfast). My bed was comfortable, the AC was AMAZING (which is mega important in the hot AZ summer). The room was very clean. I had a corner room with a great view, also there was a table with two chairs to sit and eat if I wanted. The bathroom was in good condition and nice toiletries provided (but I didn't use them). I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The lobby was clean and welcoming, plenty of places to sit and read, fire place, big table with chairs for dining. Didn't eat continental breakfast, but they had a good selection. And there were other people there with dogs, who were also very friendly. I loved this hotel so much, I hope to go back next 4th of July with my dog again. And I'm recommending it to all my friends with dogs who don't like fireworks. Close to a steakhouse, wineries, gas station, Dollar General (walkable). Excellent accommodations!
