Mold and filth everywhere. The bathroom was nasty. Stained black on the floor and pink mold in the corners. The bathroom door had black mold on both sides. It’s less than 1 star. We stayed only ONE of our seven nights because of its scuzzy condition.

Be prepared

This place was the worst I have experienced and I am far from picky. When you arrive, there is a note on the door that tells you to drive to another property. About ten minutes away in order to get the key. Once we had the key we went in the room and the smell was so bad it made me nauseous. Thry offered to move us but moved us into a room that was left open and lights on like someone else had been in there too. Once this happened I asked if we could cancel and the male owner got very angry and slammed a key down and stormed off. The female owner was kind and offered a refund.

We realize that they just bought this property, but the floors were dirtly, even in the bedrooms. There wasn't a lot of utensils for us to use to eat or cook with. We liked the idea of the kitchen and purchased food, but we had trouble cooking everything due to the fact that there wasn't much for utensils. Someone came into the facility at about 2 am and made a lot of noise and there was no one around to keep them quiet. Someday, we think this will be very nice, but they definitely need to do some work

Had to check in at a different location, miles away. Directions for check said " they would e-mail directions for check in". That e-mail never showed up. A note on the entry door said "call to check in. When called the receptionist said we had to come back into town to another hotel to check in. This would not have been a problem if they had told us before we got to the lodge.

There was a leak in the toilet and it kept going off every 20 minutes. It kept us up all night. It was too hot in the room. There was an extremely high charge for early check in and late check out. I will not stay there again, not will I recommend to anyone.

The room is small, but the kitchen and great room were large so we liked having room to spread out there. We also like having use of a large full kitchen. We never saw anyone there so felt like we had it to ourselves. Wish there were some games to play in the great room .The puzzle table was a great delight. The shower head in room 5 was only 5 feet high so very short for an adult shower. The shower head holder was broken so the sprayer barely stayed in the holding cradle and we had no soap or shampoo in our room. The only staff I knew about was at another location 5 miles away, so I just bought some hand soap for ourselves. On the last day I saw a staff member and mentioned that there was no soap in our room upon arrival. She said if I had called the office they'd have sent it over, but I didn't want to bother them by then.

I liked staying at this lodge, but did not like driving the extra 5 miles to check-in at the hotel in town. The lodge would be a great place for a friends or family reunion. There was a large common area and kitchen, but also microwave and fridge in the room. I think I was the only one there when I stayed.

Dissatisfied

Nice location with easy access. The lady at the Soldotna Inn at checkin wasn’t very friendly. The main area at the lodge stunk and needed a good cleaning. As for our room the floors were dirty not swept. There was a used bandaid on the bathroom floor. It is a rustic Alaskan lodge and we like rustic, we don’t like dirty and stinky!
