Overall nice place. It’s safe, quiet, convenient to everything and affordable. Furnishing were a bit dated and room was small but I was only there for one night so it wasn’t a problem. Staff was super friendly. I can’t comment on the breakfast because I went to Al Johnson’s for Swedish pancakes :)

The hotel was reasonably priced for the age of the property. The room was clean but my husband moved the foot rest so we could share it and the leg wasn't attached. The office area was crowded. The door to our room (which was directly accessible from the outside) had just a door handle lock. The deadbolt didn't have a hole in the door frame to even latch and the additional latch lock wasn't functional as it was half missing. Shower hot/cold was reversed but the hot water was very hot.

Likes: beautiful landscaping with a whimsical touch, comfy bed with good pillows, free parking, very helpful staff, water was hot and mini fridge was cold, thick towels, effective light-blocking window treatments, staff brought us a power strip for more outlets. Parking downtown on weekends is terrible, but the city does have a shuttle which conveniently stops at the entrance to the grounds. Dislikes: Room too crowded with table and wide chairs, king bed, loveseat, desk, dresser, mini fridge, dehumidifier, so no room to have two suitcases open. Dehumidifier power light on meant it was not turned on, so we lived in such humid conditions for two days until I asked for it to be checked if it was working. Breakfast was nothing remarkable, just cold cereal and yogurts. Not enough outlets and no USB ports so our electronics had to take turns charging. The light switch also turned off the outlets so we came back to find the laptop hadn't charged. Maybe it takes only 19 minutes to walk to the beach, but you have to cross the highway to get to the sidewalk. I'd stay there again if they have any larger rooms with a king bed, now that I know the tricks of managing the problems we had.

Room was OK but dated. Doors didn't shut completely because floor was warped. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Internet didn't work. Unit was below a family residence which was noisy at times.

Clean affordable, relaxing stay

Front desk was very friendly and the rooms were clean. It was very nice after a long drive to get into a very clean room. Definitely would stay at this place again when we stay in Sturgeon Bay if you’re looking for a simple, very clean comfortable stay somewhere in a close proximity. This would be the place I would recommend.

We enjoyed our stay. Cute place with great charm. An added bonus was the continental breakfast. We have stayed in door county at hotels for 9 years and this is the first one in door county with it. We enjoyed it!
